The PS3 one takes one of the standard USB plugs.  I hope they haven't gone and made a proprietory USB plug for the PS4 that would be lame as fuck

They switched it from the big plug to the tiny one, all edge has to do is buy one of the smaller plugs, it is universal.

Shinen are saying Fast Racing Wii U will have 4 to 8k textures. Whilst there are textures this size already on PC, it's rare for current gen consoles to have anything like that. RAGE had streaming megatextures with pop in, which is a little different from what others are saying.

People kinda dismissed his comments based on the type of game Ancel was known to be working on at the time, for Wii U(2D Rayman). However, he was simply sharing his experience with the hardware(who knows what else they might had been working on?), and the bottom line was that the capabilities actually surprised him, in a good way!


Whatever is going on in this little machine - with it's ability to punch above its weight - it doesn't seem like it's totally obvious until devs spend a bit of time with the hardware. Some seemed genuinely surprised/impressed afterward. I'm excited to see future Wii U games.

Does streaming eat into your ISP data cap? What's bothering me about remote play reports, is that it's not consistent, some are saying it works great for this game, badly for this game. Some are saying it worked fine 3 days ago, but not at all after that. Or that suddenly they could or couldn't connect.

It's pretty impressive that it works full stop, but it just seems too spotty between users and via internet it sounds fairly unworkable. I think it was Kotaku but I could be remembering it wrongly, they said that even with direct connection they were getting audio lag, compression and missed frames. Seems that remote play is mostly just mirroring the tv like Wii U does in Trine 2 or NSMB? But I haven't come across any reports of Vita streaming a completely different scene like the U can, at the same time as an independent image on the TV.

Vita's screen must be much better quality than Us though, so better image quality. I'd like to read impressions of how the touch screen works regarding response times when playing games that require fairly quick and precise inputs. Something like Rayman legends or Balloon Hunt in Nintendoland.  

Tearaway looks good.  Is it Vita exclusive or Vita/PS3?  I hope the latter but I fear the former.

Wifi works great even upstairs in my room for 1-2 minutes then drops.

exact same issue here. I might try some of the port forwarding suggestions posted here and see how that works.

Local connect is using WiFi, its just directly to the PS4. I don't believe you can avoid this.

I've tried rebooting my router. I've tried disconnecting or turning off any other WiFi device while doing remote connection. I've tried turning off every Vita energy saving feature. I've tried both WiFi and direct connections with the PS4 and Vita. I've tried changing the router's WiFi channel. The only thing I haven't done, because I physically can't because of my setup, is connect the PS4 via Ethernet, or disable my WiFi repeater. Maybe that's the problem? Even if it is, I can't do anything about it. It just really sucks.


I can stand right in front of the PS4 with the Vita, try to connect using both the direct and over WiFi methods, and it gives connection warnings and lags/distorts the video so much.


Maybe I just have a defective PS4 or Vita. I give up.

GAF are saying PS4 caches the entire game disc, not just a partial install. You'll be able to fit 8 games at 50gb each or more given lower game sizes and the actual 400ish gb free space. That's also assuming there are no hefty patches or downloaded games too.
