With anolog controls you have more precise controls. With digital you only get 8 directions. It works in 2D, but in 3D it is too limited.
That is for 2d Mario. For 3D mario, you hold down the Z-button and keep long jumping all the way. If you are not long jumping you are doing it wrong.

I'm in St. Louis right now, go cards!
i hate Boston this week cause Brady is going in dry on the dolphins.
Ive been playing Prof Layton Mircale Mask... its ok. Its just a series of random brain teasers tied together with a hokey detective plot. Its fine but I would never play another one again, why is this series so popular?
Some people (myself included) enjoy brain teasers. The fairly ridiculous plot provides incentive to keep solving them, and most games in the series generally have a nice aesthetic and soundtrack.
Oh that being said about Layton, it's probably for the best the series is coming to an end with the Azran Legacy or whatever it's called. After 6 games, the concept has gotten old and I think they've gotten all the milage out of it that they can. I enjoy it, but there's no question it's gotten pretty repetitive. I'll be curious to see what The Layton 7 ends up being about (even if it is going mobile). Oh and if anyone wants to try a game in the series, either play the first - Professor Layton and the Curious Village, as it did have the best mystery (the closest any of them came to making a lick of sense), or Professor Layton and the Last Spector. That one is chronologically the first, and also comes with a bonus game called London Life that's pretty much along the lines of an Animal Crossing type sim, though a big more simplistic.
And on one final Layton note, the leather wallet pre-order for the Azran Legacy has got to be one of the strangest pre-order bonuses I've ever seen. Why???
If it were it would easily tip the scales into XB1s favor. It must kill both consoles not to have a killer-app at launch.
People are utterly bewildered by Hometown Story. I've heard complaints of poor controls, it being too slow and too confusing...
...wow!
People really just don't know how to read anymore and need every, last detail spelled out for them. Sad.
I like the idea of discovering how to do things on my own and exploring. Most people below the age of 18 these days... Nope!
Young people today.... with their skinny jeans... and their bisexual perfumes. Don't know nuthing I tell you!
Natsume has been posting a lot of tips regarding the game on their social media accounts today. One of their last posts was this: "In a game about exploration and discovery, you're given some direction then nudged off into the wide world. No hand holding here!" It's almost amusing to watch people respond with "but what do I do?"
I like them too but I think I rather have a score based puzzl game, more like brain age. Also the game makes no use of any of the unique DS features, you could make some pretty unique puzzles instead it's all IQ test like puzzles.
Not sure how far you've gotten, but there are a lot of puzzles that use the touchscreen to move objects around, but other than that I can't think of any other DS specific features that get used. There was a Layton knock-off for the 3DS called James Noir's Hollywood Crimes, that actually did a pretty good of that and even incorporated 3-D into the puzzles. Unfortunately for every good puzzle there were 5 crappy ones. Just forget I even brought that game up. It's no good.
I just tried The Stanley Parable demo and I really enjoyed it. I still have no clue what the game is about but I think that was the point. It was great cause it had a funny british narrator and every game with a funny british narrator is fantastic (seriously look it up). But I dont think the actual game has a funny british narrator so I will pass on it for now.
