"Modern PCs don't even have floppy disc drives, how am I supposed to play these games without rebuying digicopies or downloading them illegally?"
If you buy a PS4, you can't play PS3 games on it. You could buy a floppy disc drive for a new computer; you could install an older version of Windows. The equielent situation would be playing the old games on your old PC, which could last as long as a console, not playing old games on a new PC when you don't expect to be able to play them on a new console.
And most old games you can play without much hassle, if any at all. That's not just games of last gen, but generations before that. You will have access to more old games than with any console.
Day 1 purchase confirmed.
I really have no problem with PC gaming to honest I simply prefer console gaming more. It's like picking one colour over another, one just appeals to me more. I would like to get a gaming PC some day perhaps. Even taking Nintendo games out of the equation there's a lot of games on both Microsoft's and Sony's platforms that I enjoy playing that I can't get on PC.
The problem with PC will always be that it's missing many of the best games. Pretty much all my favorite games from this gen were not in PC. LBP, MGS4, Zelda, Mario galaxy, uncharted 2, last of us, GoW3, Bayonetta, etc. and pretty much every single third party game is on all systems. And a lot of the best indie PC games you can run on any computer so there is no need to spend a ton of money. Yeah you may have to buy two consoles to get the best games but that is still about the same price as a high end PC. And of course there is the ease of use.
This sums up my feelings for PC gaming too.
I could go PC forever from now on.
Woo I am up $600 on take two stock. Thank you GTA.
It sucked spending the initial money on my PC, but now that I have it its quite the advantage. I don't feel like I'm at the mercy of Sony and Microsoft anymore. I can just choose to pick up their consoles when I really feel they are worth it, and not because I NEED them to play the latest games. I'll likely grab a PS4 when the new Final Fantasy hits, or some equal game....and hopefully score some kind of sweet bundle deal. Still not sure on the Xbone.
Windows 8 sucks balls. Its supossed to make things simpler but noooo. Fuck me why did I buy this thing?
Another reason why PCs suck!
Random gamescom thoughts:
I am glad Castlevania comes out next year, too much going on this year.
Nights bosses in Sonic, YES!!!
Dark Souls 2 beta, I would sell my body to be in this.
Ratchet and Clank Into the Nexus looks fantastic!
I will not be paying $40 for an Xcom expansion.
O RLY, my 64 gb full windows 8 hybrid only has 30 gb of useable HDD on day one. WTF?
New Cryengine supports X1, PS4 and Wii U. Nice.
Any good apps or games for Windows 8 guys?
Angry GG is fun GG.
I'm intruged at Lightning Returns FFXIII. A giant open world FF action game, kind of crazy.
you should be able to free about 7 to 10 gig by moving the restoration files to a usb stick. Or so I heard. Might be worth googling?
what exactly did you buy GG?
Ehhhh, the only cool thing is the switching controllers from person to person thing. None of those moments enchance the game in any way and frankly looks ridiculous.
Can't seem to get the camera app settings open. Help guys. It wont let me use the camera till I allow it to use it.
P.S is there any way to get the normal windows start menu from the desktop mode?
