Getting very frustrated with Sonic Racers Transformed. The racing itself is very good, but unlocking the tracks is a gigantic pain in the ass. Each world/trophy/circuit has a branching path that ultimately ends up at the goal. In the first half of the game most of the levels are just standard racers with 10 racers battling it out for first. Here are there, they scatter in some Challenge Levels where you have to drive through rings, or slide for a certain amount of time. A few are pretty cool. One of them sort of mimics the final boss fight with Robotnic from Sonic Colors.  But most of these challenges can get ridiculously tough, and for a lot of them I've had to play them on the easy level in order to finish them. In the second half of the game it seems like half of the levels are these Challenge Levels. Annoying as hell. Stuff like this should have been made optional or put on the side. It's completely killing my progression through this game.

There are tons of Super Mario World references in NSMBU but that doesn't mean it's as good. The design and gameplay is as solid as ever, I just wish they would go crazy imaginative with the locations and art. The retro vibe is painfully holding it back.

Dishonored is done. The ending was much longer and better than I expected. Not GOTY but a really cool game. Next up is... I got like 100 games to choose from that I have yet to beat... Walking Dead.  I want to finish the GOTY contenders so I can do my awards.

EDIT: Updated my backloggery, 216 unfinished games to be exact. Lets say 100 of those I never want to finish. That still leaves 116 that I plan to play and maybe beat.

Well, sold my Wii to my sister for $50, and traded in all of my Wii games to Gamestop for $152 store credit; I ended up getting the 12-month Rewards Pro card for free too. Between my 360 and Wii trades, I got $500 back in my pocket. Hells yeah!

My shelves are starting to look so bare now. I still need to get rid of all of my Gamecube and DS games. Once I'm done, I'm going to become a minimalist gamer. Happy

I support your lifestyle choice, but it still gives me the shivers to think about collections being blown apart.

I actually enjoyed the Drift Challenge I played, and I have unlocked Amigo, but I am getting nervous reading your impressions, as you are usually a better Kart Racer than I am...  frown

Oh hey, so before we get into what we've been playing this week. Here is what I was not playing:

  1. Child of Eden.  It just turned out to be not my thing at all, which given that I never beat Rez I should have seen coming.  I basically had no idea what the fuck was going on from the time I started it.
  2. The Walking Dead. Only Mrs Aspro's laptop will play it, and it was chuggy on that.  So there is no way I will beat it this year, as I had intended.
  3. Assassin's Creed III: Vita. Again, tried playing it, but had no idea what the fuck was going on, in terms of controls.  You have to lvoe these new games that comes with no manual and no tutorial.  AC is a franchise that is now officially dead to me.  So my Vita will sit on the shelf until the next game comes along.  I saw Gravity Rush at the store, but they wanted $70 for it used, so that is not going to happen.

As for what I've been playing, I beat Mafia II, Spec Ops:The Line and am now playing Asura's Wrath, which is something that is compltely new, fun and so far, without frustration.  I hope to beat it today or tomorrow.

Give the console AC a chance, Aspro.  The tutorials are helpful and fun.

I downloaded King of Fighters XIII from PSN. I haven't played a KoF game since the late '90s. I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's fun. LOL

Raven, I'll still keep your gamer tag though you no longer have a 360.  What is your PSN I'd?

Very much so yes.

However, I notice a distinct lack of ointment talk in there.

If you can get a good grasp on drifting that'll help you quite a bit. Those along with the Ring challenges are the ones that kill my momentum. There's also a few others that rely more on combat, though to me those are a piece of cake. Anyway don't be too scared. If you've got finesse you should be fine with these challenges. Most of my talent in cart racers comes from knowing tracks and knowing how to use the weapons they offer. Actual racing skill will get you farther in this game.

Sup fellas?

I was just at Best Buy browsing, and they had Resident Evil 6 marked at $40...how long has this been the price I wonder? I was tempted to buy, but I held off. Not only did I want to wait for the $20 price point, but I also have a feeling it will end up on the Wii U in some kind of Ninja Gaiden 3 edition type deal at some point.

If it does end up on Wii U it won't be at a discount though.  It's discounted on the current consoles because of the inventory glut.

My only problem with the demo was the camera and they say that has been fixed with a patch, so I am more inclined to getting it now. I'm waiting for the $20 mark.
