'Freaks' and tweaks: ZombiU's winding path to launch
"One year ago, trying to make such an ambitious game, it [was] a bit stupid, I think. It has been tough. It has been a huge amount of work, but it's done."

Mass Effect 3 on Wii U features, graphical, audio issues?
" This version of ME3 seems a lot less visually stable than, say, the Xbox 360 version -- the frame rate is choppier, the animation seems rougher."

I wouldn't say the Wii U launch is bad, just very underwhelming to me. I would have bought a Wii U this morning had Rayman Legends and Pikmin 3 been available. As it stands, I'll just wait until those come out.
HD porn FTW
Every system launch of the past decade has been a disaster to people.
Xbox 360 was slammed for not being "enough of an upgrade" over Xbox 1, for those who recall. As it turned out, it WAS a major upgrade...and has lasted for 7 years now.
PS3 was slammed for being $600 and being an also-ran console.
Wii was slammed for being the Wii.
Now Wii U is being slammed because it has an hour long update & multi-platform games like every other system. And it isn't the Wii...
Okay, I've played Epic Mickey 2 (Wii) for just over 3 hours now, and I'm loving it. As far as I'm concerned, the HD versions are either gimped or the "pro" reviewers are full of shit (probably both). I have not had one AI issue, camera problem or bug so far. Everything feels polished and works just as expected. The new gameplay elements are fun additions. The voice acting is top notch, and helps a lot in bringing this game to life. If you liked the original Epic Mickey, then you'll likely enjoy this one as well. I'll post if anything changes, but so far, it's awesome.
Great lead into: What have you been playing this weekend? Besides my obvious thread full of gaming, I have been playing a TON of:
_______________
**AWESOME game to lay in bed while you're sick and obsess over!**
_______________
What about you Homo-Sapiens?
I've been playing both Epic Mickey games, and a bit of Halo 4 this weekend.
I really should be playing the "lay in bed and try to get some rest despite the fact it is the wii u launch day so I can get rid of this uber-nasty cold plague I picked up from being smelly, wet and moldy all week" game. Shouldn't have gone out. Shouldn't have waited on line. Shouldn't have been posting all day. Thank GOD I don't have anything to do until Friday!
OMG! I just realized Epic Mickey 2 comes with a full color manual! I thought paper manuals were extinct these days?
I've been playing lots of Halo 4, and now obviously I will be playing lots of Black Ops 2 and Zombi U.
I played a bit of Black Ops 2 before the Pats game...very cool, but I can tell you now the Wii U controllers take some getting used to. With the right stick up above the buttons, I constantly try to hit buttons above the stick that ARE NOT THERE....then when I realise they are down below, I hit the wrong buttons because Nintendo does that weird thing where they put A,B,X, & Y backwards. Its fucking with my brain.
So far the Gamepad doesn't add anything to COD..maybe in the campaign they use it for better things. Will start Zombiu after the Pats game.
Does anyone know if Nintendo is releasing points cards for Wii U? I don't like using my credit card. BTW...STEAM has points cards you can buy at Best Buy now...very cool.
And that is as good as it will get.
I've been playing Suikoden on PS1. Also gave Yakuza Dead Souls a quicklook, will get back to that after Suikoden.
I want to try ZombiU but I don't want to waste $60 to do so. I can only imagine downloading the demo, as it would probably take hours... I want to understand the whole point of the GamePad and none of the games so far does it.
Zombie U Reivews. (One of these kids is not like the other).
Without even looking at the game informer review I know it was written by Tim Turi. (He hates non-traditional controlled shooters, but they keep giving them to him to review).

You set your beer on it and use the Pro Controller.
I was excited when I saw that Paper Mario had one.....till I discovered it was just a fold out poster with basic control instructions.
I went ahead and kept one of my Wii U's. I'm regretting it though. For whatever reason, my Wii U cannot connect to my wireless router. Coincidentally I cannot perform a system update on my Wii either, though I can still use Netflix on it, so the internet itself is not a problem. After spending 2 hours on the phone with Nintendo even their tech support gave up on me. So I pretty much have a nice black brick in my living room capable of letting me create Mii's.
How are the Mii's in HD?
