'Freaks' and tweaks: ZombiU's winding path to launch
"One year ago, trying to make such an ambitious game, it [was] a bit stupid, I think. It has been tough. It has been a huge amount of work, but it's done."

Mass Effect 3 on Wii U features, graphical, audio issues?
" This version of ME3 seems a lot less visually stable than, say, the Xbox 360 version -- the frame rate is choppier, the animation seems rougher."

Zombi U
UK/USA divide once more if true. CVG says it's brains rather than brawn.
Just as I cancel Zombi U, it starts getting good reviews from the sites I value more. Great.
Obviously Zombi U is one of those love it or hate it games. And being a quick launch game made by a small team, I'm sure you're going to have to overlook some things in order to enjoy its potential. But like Assassin's Creed, a sequel with a big budget could be totally amazing.
I think if you want a more modern, fast paced game you will not like it....but, if you like a more old school ,slow, methodical game with some challenge, you'll love it. I think I will be one of the lovers.
Anyway....I've been dicking around all day, just finally got it hooked up. The Wii U itself looks quite a bit bigger & more substantial than the Wii did, in person. Its quite long. The controllers are awesome. Both of them. The Pro pad is easily THE most comfortable controller I have ever held...it one ups the Gamecube pad. And the Gamepad is also very comfortable...just takes some getting used to because its so big. Feels weird holding your hands that far apart.
If there's anything I don't like so far...hmm well the analog sticks are a bit loose compared to the Xbox, and the triggers don't have much PUSH to them. That's about it...more things I'm just not used to than actual problems.
Actually motherfucker...its like 3 year old tech if its in between a Radeon 4870 series card and a Radeon 6600 series. Don't fuck with a PC player!
That's what I was thinking. Also, to be honest it's a completely new game style and the closest thing most previews could compare it to was Dark Souls - it's not just a Zombi FPS. They are treading new ground here and would rather see experiments than just normal safe games.
Not talking about fucking with existing franchise templates though.
How are the sticks compared to Wii's nunchuk?
Basically exactly the same....with the added bonus of click ins.
Seriously, I cancel my pre-order which meant I had to cancel Mario too as it was on the same order and then it starts getting good reviews from sites I trust more.
IGN: 6.5GameInformer: 5GameSpot: 4.5The last three on that list I wouldn't wipe my ass on their reviews, especially Gameinformer and Gamespot.
Destructoid I expect them spectacularly under or overate with every review so a solid 8 rings as more trustworthy from them.
EDIT: Just read that Greg Miller did the IGN review. So that was expected.
Greg Miller even said himself in the comments below his review that people should read MULTIPLE reviews to get a better feel on Zombi U...exactly what I always say.
I already have it...will play tonight.
My system is doing the update right now. Pretty cool when you turn it on it tells you to sync the controller, then you do all the system setup stuff right on the gamepad screen. It automatically sets the resolution to 1080p and all that shit...then you can sync the controller to both your tv and cable box. Then you sync the console to your internet connection and the update begins...very soothing bubble music going on right now.
Tell me how long it takes.
Got it as to not inconvenience the guys at the GameStop just as their doors opened. Will bring it and Power of Illusion back on Tuesday, unopened to get Hitman and maybe some Nintendo Points.
About an hour.
I gots Epic Mickey 2! I'll give impressions later.
Oh, and my local Best Buy had 6 white Wii U systems just sitting there on the shelf this morning. I saw one guy with one in the checkout line; he was standing there staring at it with a confused look on his face as if wondering, "Why am I buying this?"

eBay isn't looking to good. I'm selling all Nintendo stock as soon as I can
Shame I cancelled. But now that I have I will wait on impressions etc. Might get it gifted to me for Christmas. It always seemed like it might not be my kind of game, too punishing maybe? But then it seems innovative and atmospheric which is my type of game. Reviews seem decent. With this kind of game that is experimenting with control and other systems I'm not suprised at mixed impressions. Don't forget the wide disparity in reviews for some Wii 1 games.
Isn't a little soon to be calling it a complete disaster? Scott Moffit said there would be more Wii U stock day 1 then there was of Wii 1 and that there would be regular replenishment. It's no suprise to see Wii U's on store shelves, it's not exactly a cheap impulse buy either. There's been a massive global recession between 2006 and now. From what I've read pre-orders sold out and Gamestop is reporting that the software pre-orders are double Wii 1 levels. That day 1 update will be a forgotten memory by the next day unless it becomes a regular occurance. Then by spring you'll have Pikmin 3 and Rayman Origins.
Launch games are not special at all?
I guess I'm forgetting about the day 1 special magnificence of these 360 launch games:
Or these special PS3 launch games:
Dude.
The Wii version of Epic Mickey 2 is definitely the best version; IR works sooo much better. It looks almost exactly like the PS3 version, only with more noticable jaggies and slightly muted colors. I'm enjoying it a lot so far.
posting on wii u....this console has the best console launch lineup since dreamcast & the games will keep coming every month...whats bad about it?
What's the internet browser like?
