It's finally coming out on PS3?
Yup. "Director's Cut" so hopefully discount priced as well. "Better controls" and HD. It controlled and looked fine before.
Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut will be released in 2013 exclusively for PS3, Rising Star Games has announced.
The game follows FBI special agent Francis York Morgan as he investigates the murder of a young woman in the town of Greenvale.
The updated game promises a number of new features, including HD graphics (didn't the original have this?), an updated control system, a brand new scenario from the game's director, Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro, and DLC to extend the game beyond the main story.
"Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut is both a love letter to fans that supported the game and a great update for new players," said Yen Hau, product manager, Rising Star Games. "With the enhancements and new content, the team is confident that old players will re-experience Deadly Premonition the way it was intended to be and that new players will discover a narrative experience unlike any other game."
It wasn't HD?
And do'h. missed the review copy by but a few months.
Good question. The back of the box says, "720p/1080i/1080p". So I guess they mean "H'er D'er". Even more H's and D's.
Maybe they displayed the game at those resolutions, but didn't bother to include any HD textures when designing it?
Pretty much. There are some attacks that give bonuses based on timing in the vein of a Super Mario RPG though, so it's not quite a straight turn based RPG. And it may warrant mentioning that it's not a random battle RPG either. You pick and choose all of your fights by running into monsters.
Legends really didn't look too polished in the trailers. Shame too.
PMs, man. Top right envelope.
Thanks. I replied to you.
And a message aspro sent me in May.
The more you know.
I'll get back to you later today.
I am wondering if Activision has one of the usual contracts with the movie companies that they have to put out at least a game every two years to maintain their licensing agreement.
It's the lowest form of game development, see the Spiderman games as a reference.
I am so sick of Gangnam Style. Why can't we, as reasonable people, appreciate something for a respectable period of time, and then move onto the next thing and appreciate that.
It's like Mona Lisa and the Louvre all over again. THERE ARE OTHER THINGS WORTH OBSERVING!
But they replaced all the old Bonds with Craig in Legends so you were screwed either way.
From the reviews it seems Legends is more geared towards the COD crowd than Wii Goldeneye was, more running and gunning, more waves of enemies thrown at you, less stealth, larger yet less intricate environments. And basically what I feared might happen, happened by having levels based on films. You would have a level which would have to end facing Oddjob, Jaws etc etc and have to do the QTE punchy thing which only happened once in GE Wii. And there is no interconnecting story, they have spliced together films and tried to make a narrative.
And yet it was hard to replicate. Eurocom finally did it with the Wii Goldeneye Wii, they made an excellent Bond game.
Some guys on GAF say that Activision is contractually obliged to put out a Bond game every so often, those were the terms when they bought the licence.
What you said^
We have our first 007 Legends GAF hands on:
But now we have the first positive review:
The Skyfall level is free DLC that will come later BTW.

It makes one wonder how cohesive a unit Eurocom is at this point. Like is there a creative core to the company? Or is it just a couple of business guys who hire on contractors as needed?
I am hoping this is a case of a good team that was just not given enough time to make a quality game. Eurocom has a rich, rich legacy of games to their credit, I hope this does not do them in. I make this comment with Psygnosis in mind.
They made Dead Space Extraction then Goldeneye so they have talent there.
Wii Us are being set up in game stores
This is a good review to read, not because he liked it, but because he liked Goldeneye wii and explains what has changed and the review is much more informative than the rest. This is just a portion of the review^.
So unlike Goldeneye the enemy bodies are left and spotted by patrolling guards, but you cannot move or hide bodies. Ugh.
Some stealth missions have immediate fail screens if you are spotted. Ugh.
Then you have the QTE boss fight from Goldeneye, only worse and a lot more of them. Ugh.
