Having an evening of fatherly gamer pride. My son and I just spent a half hour playing Kirby's Epic Yarn. Normally he's just interested in playing Wii Play, Wii Music,, dance games, pet games and other kinds of non-games or casual stuff. Epic Yarn is hardly a core game but it's a step in the right direction and he's really into it. Good times.

I'm still shocked they are actually bringing out the sequel to the US... on the 3DS, no less! Good to see that it is a series now too! There's hope still for "smart" games!

Arksys knows what they are doing. They probably make a decent profit even on 20K sold.

I'll get this started early, this week I've been playing:

Blue Dragon.  I went into this expecting nothing. Instead I am wishing that we were curently on Blue Dragon 3. I complety love this game. I am 9 hours into it. It is as enjoyable as a Dragon Quest game but with incredible visuals. So far it is perfect.

Also played, Hot Shots Golf 2 (PS), Mario Bros 3 (NES).

Good to see you're enjoying Blue Dragon Aspro. I too enjoyed it very much as well and am also disappointed that it never received any proper sequels. It's a shame that both it and Lost Odyssey never did better as they were both excellent games.

I've been playing Dead or Alive 5. It's a very solid fighter but I can't help feeling that it's lacking from not having Itagaki around. I really miss the gorgeous CGI prerendered cut-scenes from the previous games and the music is kind of ho-hum. The graphics are good and the dynamic stages are good to excellent. The mechanics are very solid with the addition of powerful critical bursts and power moves which are appropriately challenging to pull off. There's a decent number of modes to keep one busy. Online runs pretty smoothly for the most part.
