I played some 3DS demos. Kingdom Hearts 3D is so awesome. Its KH with some cool new speed powers. The camera is total garbage though.
I tried Spider-Man as well, felt like I was playing an average PS1 game.
Yeah it didn't look anywhere near what I expected. Pikmin and Pikmin 2 were some of the best looking games of last gen, and some of the most photo realistic. I expected Pikmin 3 to be the same, not just a slight bump up. I hope they improve it before release.
Pikmin 2 was one of the best Gamecube games...10 times better than the original. Definitely worth getting.
http://cube.ign.com/articles/540/540864p1.html
"Right from the very start, the presentation of Pikmin 2 eclipses the first -- it, in fact, runs circles around most Nintendo-developed games. "
"Those values carry over to the in-game worlds, too. Pikmin 2 runs in progressive scan (and features the option to turn deflicker on or off), supports Dolby Pro Logic II, and as a result looks and sounds marginally prettier than the original. As before, some of the environmental textures suffer up close, but appear ultra-realistic from a panned back view. Meanwhile, all of the characters from Olimar and Louie to the nasty beasts they encounter are gorgeously modeled and animated. Water shimmers realistically. Lighting effects illuminate darkened areas. Particle effects bring to life dangers like fire. And the game runs at 30 frames per second with 100 animated Pikmin whirling around at any given time."
Happy Birthdate Yoda! Max Payne 3 on 360 is amazing!
Hey guys I am right now looking at this site from my new Playstation 3D TV. Its on sale at BB, decided to pick it up just to have a 3D TV and so it can be a future computer monitor. The 3D on this thing is so amazing. The added depth makes all games look new almost. I tried out quite a few so far like Wipeout, Stardust, Uncharted and Sonic Generations. Uncharted wowed me the most, it truly feels like a 3D movie and the environments come alive in a new way. Sonic Gen has the most popping 3D effects, the track is flying by you as you race through it. Classic Sonic is an issue as the 2D moves too fast and yo0u get shadow effects. Stardust is really neat but pretty basic stuff. Wuipeout is like the demo standard, its almost meant for 3D and serves as a great way to show off the TV.
The TV came with the new motorstorm but I will try that later. I still have plenty of games to try as well as some 360 ones. I got an IMAX space bluray in 3d for cheap so i will be seeing how movies are shortly. The TV itself is very vibrant and games look very good on it. Seems to work great as a monitor too. And I hear it allows PSP games to be played full screen on it. It wont be my main gaming TV, just something I use from time to time till I get a new computer and make it my main monitor.
BTW the 3D is obviously better than the 3DS 3d but with the 3ds you get the idea of what is going on. just imagine that but bigger and deeper. To me this or something like this is the future. There is no reason that we should be seeing flat images in the future, obviously the glasses need to go.
I went bigger and deeper last night.
The Last Story comes out on July 10th...fuck....forgot all about that one.
Try to track down Child of Eden. I've heard the 3-D effect is amazing with it.
I never get headaches from 3D so I am ok with it but the glasses are so tight on my nose that it hurts.
Ranking the 3D so far I'd say:
1. Motorstorm
2. Uncharted 3
3. SotC
4. Ratchet A4O
5. Wipeout HD
6. Sonic Generations
7. Stardust
8. GT5
9. Batman and MK, total crap
That takes me back to the days of decent IGN reviews.
Take a pic of you wearing the glasses plz. I would use it as my main gaming TV.
Outside of PS3 though there is no reason to own a 3DTV IMO. I don't want to watch movies or TV in 3D and I certainly do not want to pay more for the 3D TV service.
You guys really need to play Transformers War For Cybertron. This game is great stuff.
Closest thing imaginable to a Metal Arms sequel.
How many games? I doubt any of the games I have are even compatible.
I feel the same way and tried to mention that way back when, when the game first came out... The unfortunate thing is though: Recommend one bad Transformers game, then no one will listen to you when you try to recommend a GOOD Transformers game. I am looking forward to the next one. I cannot even begin to imagine how they are going to add the DinoBots into the game-play, nor the huge multi-robots like the Constructicons and Devastator.
Wow! I must say the ground and wall textures in the Monster Hunter 4 vids... they look like complete and utter shit.
I would say they look like N64 textures, but that would be paying them a compliment. They managed to make OoT look good... What the HELL happened to MH4?!
You can't say they put the extra processing power or memory into the monsters, cause they don't look that great either. The Hero looks OK, but... UGH!
I'm halfway through the game. The 1st 5 chapters you play as the Decepticons, then the last 5 as the Autobots. I just finished a boss fight that was one of the best I've experienced in awhile. Like Metroid level badass.
First thing I'm doing when my consoles are back up is playing Arkham City and Rhythm Heaven Fever.
