For what it is worth Brad from Giantbomb said that when he saw Star Wars 1313 was running on PC with the best components currently available. He said they also "inexplicably had a framecounter running on-screen" and that the footage shown was 30 fps.  So it looks that good on the best pc available at 30 fps...

So I guess this answers the question that has been swirling around for the last couple of years, "WTF is Lucasarts even doing anymore?"

Gamasutra on Xbox Smartglass:

When Microsoft unveiled its SmartGlass initiative on Monday, observers were quick to make connections to Nintendo's upcoming tablet-based Wii U. After all, it appeared to offer game developers another canvas for display and input through the tablets and smartphones Xbox players (theoretically) already own.



However, after watching a product demo and speaking to representatives from both Microsoft and a developer actively integrating the technology, we're not so sure that this could act in the same way.



In one demo we saw, SmartGlass was integrated with Ascend: New Gods, an upcoming Xbox 360 game from Signal Studios. In the demo, a smartphone was employed to display additional information for the player. As the player's character entered a new environment, the phone displayed a listening screen while it waited for data in the game.



It then displayed a simple bitmap image of the current environment being played through, with a simple blue blip representing the character being tracked in real time. When the player reached the end of the environment (a cave) and went outside, the phone then picked up game data to load up the next map.



Similar demos we saw for movie watching were equally simplistic, offering little in the way of direct or instantaneous interaction with the screen, instead focusing on peripheral information such as biographical data on actors in a movie being watched.



So it's then unclear if a SmartGlass game could even use tablet screens as real-time, responsive input devices in the same way as the Wii U's GamePad.



"I think that's possible," a Microsoft representative told us, indicating that even internally this hasn't necessarily been done.

Watched the Castlevania 3DS video, jesus, I have seen PSP games that look better, after RE Revelations it just looks embarrasing.

Team Ninja's Hayashi:

"All Japanese developers are right now treading water, and doing everything they can just to basically stay above water," he suggested, as well as highlighting the lack of distinctly Japanese games at E3 and other global games conferences.



That, however, is something Hayashi believes presents an opportunity.

"Maybe if the industry is going for that Hollywood blockbuster direction, we can offer something that's different," he said.



Hayashi also expressed a belief that the future of development in Japan may be improved by today's pressure to improve.

"Everybody is so desperate to stay there and stay alive that you're going to get answers for how to move forward and how to make things work in the future," Hayashi offered"

ANALYST ON Wii U

Sterne Agee analysts Arvind Bhatia and Brett Strauser were hoping a launch date and price would be announced, and they would have have liked to seen more games taking advantage of the GamePad.

“Most of the third party publishers we spoke to seemed to be lukewarm about the Wii U console and don’t seem to be developing games for it aggressively,” said the duo in an industry note. “That said, Nintendo has always had the ability to surprise everyone.”
