Robio. If you ever actually play that Ghostly Groove game, you're gonna have to let me know how it is!
Leo, I will do that, though I still don't know if I'll get a 3DS anytime soon. Debating it as a Christmas present for myself. Tough call between that and a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue.
They're all November games.
Christ I hate this month.
Oh! I'm so sorry! That answer is incorrect! Mario Kart 7 releases in December!
You win the Booby prize!
They're games I won't be playing in 2011.
So, Leo, what's your Wii code? Screw it, it just the Wii.
Found this on GoNintendo.
Wait....IGN gave Uncharted 3 a fucking 10?!?!
That's a bigger joke than GTA4 getting 10's.
I mean, the game is not as good as U2, not even close. They rely on the same tired predictable shootout scenes towards the end of the game that they did in Uncharted ONE, and multi-player while very fun, isn't on the level of Gears 3 or Reach or any of the last 5 COD games. A Perfect 10? No. 8.6 rating.
Totally agree, disappointed with tired feeling the game has. The demos looked so much better than it plays, the game is beautiful but the gameplay is downright boring. I will even go so far as to give a flat 8. Way too much time wandering around with stupid dialog.
Its still a 9 at least, the game is still pretty spectacular compared to most action games and the multiplayer is improved over U2. At least for me its the kind of multiplayer I enjoy playing more than any FPS. As just a campaign sure, your score is fine but the online and co-op adds a ton of value for me. The 10 is a joke though.
I have to REAAAAALLY love a game to give it a 9 or higher, because I feel 9+ ratings are given out too often these days. I mean, I remember when Greg Kasavin gave KOTOR a 9.1 rating back in the day, and really agreeing with it and feeling like that 9.1 rating meant the game was truly something special, which it was. Nowadays, those kind of ratings and glowing reviews are handed out too easily IMO.
I just don't feel a 9 for this game, and I just came off of Uncharted 2 which I did think was a 9 game. I think the game, single-player wise, could be so much more than it is at times. As I said they just rely on cookie cutter formula's too often. Sometimes it feels like the developers are saying "Well what do we do now? Oh I know, lets just do what Gears does!" Except they don't do it as well. Multi-player IS good, but there are other games that are just as good if not better. Why is every game that has GOOD single-player and GOOD multi-player immediately worthy of a 9+ score nowadays. That's why I feel its not a 9 game.
Also, continuing on with Donkey Kong Country Returns, and I have to say, this game is fun as hell. I honestly can't believe Retro Studios made this game, its just so different from what they are known for. The game has that old school "I gotta keep playing" feel to it that the platformer greats of old had. I still don't think the graphics are as impressive as Metroid, but they do some genius things with the hardware nonetheless. Sound-wise, its one of those Wii games that seems to be better in 2-channel stereo sound than Pro Logic 2 Surround, not surprising for a side-scroller I guess. Controls can be gimmicky sometimes, but never get in the way. Really cool level and creature designs. Great game.
Edgey about DKCR compared to Metroid graphics wise
from a IGN interview with a developer.
Retro: Each level in DKCR contains about three times the detail of an average Metroid Prime 3 room, as far as the texture count and poly count. That has required us to really ramp up our technology to support that. We're playing on the same platform, but with three times the content in any given level. That was a challenge. But I'm really happy to say that we have a very talented and passionate group of engineers who met that challenge head-on. The Metroid Prime 3 engine couldn't run this content. And as far as the time it took, even though we were putting three times as much into these levels, we couldn't take any more time to do it. So we've really had to improve our internal disciplines and our tools to support that kind of production.
So straight from the horses mouth. DKCR > MP3 when it comes to tech. And I agree, the game has a more organic look, with jungles and stuff happening at the background. Everything feels more 'alive' then Meroid.
Saints Row the Third: The game that FINALLY gives you what you have been waiting for ALL. YOUR. LIFE!
The Character Creator in Saint's Row the Third has a "Sex Appeal" slider!
Go ahead! Make it as true to life as you dare!
Okay I turned in Sonic Generations today and exchanged it for Shadows of the Damned. This is a fun game. I don't know if I'd call it a good game but I'm having a ton of fun with it. Its one big long Mexican dick joke. Garcia is a delightfully foul mouthed stereotype, but hell its funny. The name "Puta Claus" has in fact already been added to my upcoming holiday lexicon.
I'm sorry. What were you saying? I was distracted for a moment.
Feliz fin de semana, Pendejos!
This is what I've been playing:

...y tu, Puta Clauses?
Don't mind me Leo. I'm just talking about cock.
Also played Lord of the Rings: War in the North, but sad to say, I gave up on it. Snowblind Studios totally fucked up on this one. They took flexible concepts started in Dark Alliance and Champions of Norrath, like multiple, customizable, interesting characters classes, with hugely varying skill trees, tons of weapons, armors, accessories, etc... and they tried to cram them into one of the most RIGID and UNYIELDING, fantasy universes of them all. You got your Dwarf. You got your Ranger. You got your Elf... who shouldn't even BE a Mage, but somehow is anyway... and you pit them against the same enemies again and again and again... with an occasional Troll thrown in for good measure. You ALSO get Orc Mages... (!?) and an overly simplistic battle engine that's half Baldur's Gate and half Gears of War... neither part working well at all... and you get ONE. BIG. BORING. MESS.
SO. UNHAPPY!
Was looking forward to LOOT, instead I got a big, smelly POOT.
No Thank You!
