They get there in the end, and I'd already be paying $80 (more like $100) if I were to buy it from a store lol.

Is the soundtrack worth $10-15 extra? I found the Australian version on eBay for that much more than it is on Zavvi.

Only 12 songs? Well, that goes someway to answering my question lol.

My frist impression of CV HD is very positive. I LOVE that every single character plays like that character from their game. Basically you have like 7 different ways to play the game as each character plays out so differently. I enjoyed the first two levels tremendously and in classic loot game fashion any time I got a new item I was super excited. I can see myself sinking a bunch of time into this game.

I forgot about the Aussie prices. Try ordering from other places, because Zavvi can take up to 2 months.

From Gaf I heard GameSeek was fast, just make sure it is in stock before you order. I ordered mine from Amazom uk.

Yes and No. Yes if it is the 4 CD 80 songs soundtrack you would get in Japan. No if it is the 12 songs one.

That's fine with me as given its seem rarity I'm buying it to save a bit of money in the long term, rather than play it soon. I probably wouldn't get to playing it before then even if I had it anyway. And Zavvi are the cheapest I've seen by a couple of pounds. Might e-mail Zavvi to make sure it's in-stock first, though.

Nah it's the 12 track one sadly. Sad

Thanks!

Foolz, zavvi has Xenoblade as "shipping within a month", that probably means they don't have it in stock and they hope to get more.  At this stage I would get it from a shop I think if you want to be 100% sure of having it.

I disown GG. These are the games he could have played if he went to the eurogamer event in London:

You could have played Sonic! Nyaa

There's only one game on that list I would actually buy. I've been to games events before, I don't see the point of standing around for a couple of hours playing a few minutes of this and that before facing an hour and a half journey back home.

You know a game is good when you're 70 hrs in and still want to see what's around the next corner. I've done so much yet I still feel like there is more and more to give in this game. It's not scary content either, I know sometimes when I hear a game is very long it often puts me off getting it. But with this game everything is checklisted and handled so well you can do a couple of sidequests and put it down and everything is tracked and saved and you never forget or lose your way or anything. It's perfectly balanced and beautiful to play.

If you pre-order Super Mario 3Dland at gamestop you get this

Does it worry you as a developer that the consoles have such diverse interfaces now, from Kinect and Move to touchscreens?

"The good thing about a console in the old days was that it was very focused. You knew the hardware, the controls - you can create a tight experience. That's all changed. The 360 dashboard is always updated, for example. If I want my game to integrate with that experience, I'm just not sure what that is now. The controller isn't standard. There's a lot more unsureness in the way you interact, which I think is a mistake. If Kinect had been its own console, it would have been much easier. There's a fuzziness to do with what a console is anymore."

Agreed.

If Zavvi don't reply about the stock I'll just grab it for $10 more off eBay. Found a buy it now with a fair bit of stock left. At least I'll be getting a pointless extra CD for the $10 more if it comes to that. LOL

Namco Spent 2 and a half Years Making Go Vacation

Inside games said:

Namco Bandai's latest family-oriented Wii game Go Vacation is more than just a mini game collection. While the primary play consists of mini games, it looks like Namco Bandai has put some major resources into development.

In an interview with Inside Games at the Tokyo Game Show, producer Kenya Kobayashi, who previously produced Family Ski and directed Ridge Racer & & 7, said that the game has been in development for two and a half years. Counting just staff within Namco Bandai itself, the game's staff count is over 100.

The goal for the game, said Kobayashi, was to deliver the ultimate family game, and the definitive Wii title. The game includes 50 mini games, with such variety as car race games and water gun shooting matches. Outside of the mini games, the game's four resort areas are fully 3D areas. You can freely walk, swim and ride vehicles through them. As you explore, you'll discover new mini games. The resorts even have hidden treasure boxes and hidden areas.

While running through the game trying out all the games will take 15 to 20 hours, Kobayashi said that players who try to do everything can expect a 100 hour play experience -- possibly even 200 hours. The game includes 8 save slots, so your family and friends can have their own personal save.

Go Vacation is due for release on October 20.

I'm still hopeful on this one, but I await the Robio verdict.

Really? It has an average rating of 8.8...most people love it. The games were well recieved on PSP and these versions are supposed to be superior.

In general, some portable games are judged on portable standards. Kinda like how Metroid Prime Hunters was good for a DS version (Metacritic of 85) but was actually shite.

I played both games on the collection on  PSP.  They are both great games but they're considerably shorter and smaller scale than the console Cod of War games.  Still worth getting though if one doesn't have a PSP and likes GoW.

My TeamICO collection hasn't despatched yet.  I think it will though by the end of the week.  Same as Child of Eden!

Got my PS3 online today after over three months... It's been downloading updates for several hours... yay.

Hopefully sometime tonight I'll connect the 360 as well so I can get Radiant Silvergun
