Awesome
Same old for me, playing xenoblade still. Yesterday my back was terrible, shoulder pain too.
Massage seemed to make it worse too.
I don't envy you waking up that early. Maybe you'll get used to it?
Take care bugsy.
Bravely Default 3DS by Square Enix.
If you're not impressed, note that those are static 2D backgrounds but fully 3D cel-shaded environments.
Are those screengrabs from the trailer? Too fuzzy.
Anyway:
I'm not sure why it gets all that backlash @ GAF. What did people expect out of the Wii? It looks lovely imo. I wouldn't have doubted anyone if I was told it's a PC exclusive really (as long as it was shown in high resolution without jaggies etc, maybe with better shadows too). MMORPGs usually target low end systems, with exceptions like Conan and some very recent titles/announcements, though not all take that route.
Anyway, most of the environments look great to me. Nice style, nice trees, some great vistas (like that castle city thing in the distance in one shot) and great draw distance. At least for the major elements, I imagine there will be pop in for players, monsters, and other detail objects. At least on Wii, maybe less so on Wii U.
The characters are at least on par with VIII but better since they're customisable like in any MMORPG.
Also. It's an MMORPG. On Wii. That gives it +10 amaze potential graphically
Now let's hope it's not a mess like FFXIV. Horii hopefully wouldn't allow that to happen to DQ. Free online for the West would be nice too. Though if it's a good one I'd pay a cheap subscription. It's been quite a while since an MMORPG managed to hook me. None did so after WoW even, either for being too similar to that, or too crappy. This certainly seems to escape the first issue by looking close enough to single player Dragon Quest gameplay wise, rather than a WoW rip off with gauges and hotkeys everywhere.
Some of my favorite shots, in ascending order. I really don't see how people think this is not looking interesting (outside people not wanting an online JRPG). Other than the plain fields (I love those trees, hence one of my favorite shots), other areas have plenty unique elements and architecture that will be great to view and explore. I mean, look! It's a giant, smiling, flower! What other JRPG city has one of those constructed?!
And this one, cos it seems inspired by some Greek island or something.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.

Man there's some great Zelda pics coming around now. And the DQ pics look nice too. I like the characters.
Anybody get Gears 3 yet? I guess I'll go pick it up in a few....have it reserved so I might as well. I just don't plan on playing it right yet.
Did not realize you were an Akira Toriyama fan, Edgey!
Normally I'm not a huge fan of that style of art, but there's something about DQ that just works. I think that's part of its appeal.
That style also worked wonderfully with Chrono Trigger
More pics of Portal 2:
First game I will get as soon as I have an internet connection again. Have an appointment with my new cable company tomorrow so I will hopefully have a connection by the weekend. Then Radiant Silvergun will be mine at last!!!

I put the newer zelda pics in the thread, heads up everyone.
Agnates Bravely default pics are over double the size they would be on the 3DS screen, so any fuzzyness is probably due to that.
Normal size this is what they look like:
DQ looks okay, kinda plain though and simple.

I like the DQX screenshots. Looks very good. It's pretty much what I expected we'd get after it was announced as a online multuplayer game (god I still have goosebumps thinking about this). I'm curious to see what the Wii U screenshots will look like, assuming these are not it.
And speaking of Dragon Quest, I'm loving DQM2. To any reviewer who says things haven't changed too much I'd like to slap them in the face. Yes the core of the game has stayed the same, but it's improved in every single way over its predecessor. Graphics are certainly rough (better than DQM but not as good as DQIX), but other than that there's nothing to complain about here. It's fantastic.
Trailer for SUDA's Kinect game
Thanks GG. That makes me happy in the pants.
You know what I like about this era of gaming? Trains have become the new airships.
Looks okay in motion, better than the screens anyway.
So how are you DQ with the online aspect of this new game? Is it over and above the DS versions online component? Are you worried at all that it wont be as fun in solo?
Can you please re-ask your question please? I did not entirely understand it.
1) What are you thoughts about the online aspect of DQX?
2) How does the online aspect of DQX compare to the online aspect of DQIX?
3) Are you worried that it won't be as fun when you masturbate to it?
