Metal Gear Solid Rising doesn't seem to be doing very well in development does it? Wasn't it supposed to be out last year originally? Now its not even coming this year, and they haven't shown much of it in ages. I have a feeling Konami is going through the same thing Capcom is with Resident Evil--not knowing wtf to do with it.
On the plus side, this is probably why we are getting the MGS Collection this year.
Continuing to rip on Deus Ex 3, and the game continues to impress. Its one of those games that is just so immersive. Its got a vibe very similar to the first game, as well as Perfect Dark in that cyberpunk kind of way. I love that you can play the game anyway you want to...either stealthy or guns blazing. And there's a ton of secret areas that reward exploration.
By the way most online retailers seem to be out of stock on Xenoblade. Zavvi is still taking orders but they have a waiting time of a month. So sales seem to be exceeding expectations. Bodes well for the US ... maybe

We received some showers along the coast and I'm three hours away from the coast. Winds are supposed to be stronger today, but that's about it.
Up here in Rhode Island I have been laughing at all the people pushing out over the past 3 days buying survival goods even though by the time the storm is here its gonna be like an average thunderstorm. Along the coast will be bad obviously because of the surge, but besides that its no big deal at all.
I hope all you guys stay safe but honestly, outside of Carolina the rest of you should be fine. The NYC evacuation is so unnessesary, by the time it hits there it will be a category 1, you can sleep through a 1. Yes flooding is an issue, but isnt everyone in an apartment anyway. Stay away from windows and you will be fine.
I'd be only worried about storm surges. That thing is fairly large sized, and is hauling a considerable storm surge with it, even bigger than its Saffir Simpson category would make you believe. Couple that with the fact that so many east coasters have no clue as of what to do with a hurricane, and you might have some trouble going on there.
Mafia II is pretty good, actually. I'm 9 chapters in, and the thing is unfolding nicely, sort of like a mini series on the mob.
