Oh let me know when you go maybe I am in town. Most broadway shows I can find tickets or around $100 and any time. That said I never checked that one, it must be huge. I want to see Spider-Man even if its bad.
Why do you feel ripped off? You bought it for 250 because you thought it was worth that price, right? If not why did you buy it in the first place?
Early adopters get the best hardware and shit in exchange for the risk of getting shafted with something. A pricecut, lack of software, hardware failures. He shouldn't feel ripped off.
Unless...he wasn't totally convinced of the 3DS being a worthy purchase to begin with.
But if you are not convinced why buy it in the first place?
Many reasons. His work asks him to be on the move constantly. He had disposable income and wanted something to keep him entertained. He was curious about the technology.
This is why you should always blow your money on hookers and coke first. Then any left-over money you have can be budgeted for video games in a responsible manner.
We will see his answers soon, but so far I feel no sympathy. For 2 reasons:
1) I am a sociopath and incapable of empathy
2) This always happens, you pay the price for being an early adapter. Buying stuff because of promised releases or hype does not make any lick of sense. Buy consoles and handhelds for game you want to play right now, not games that are coming in teh future.
Yoshi's Island is enough of a reason I wish I adopted early. Because that is the best 2D Platformer in my opinion. But I'm also happy that I'm waiting until November.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Did you feel ripped off for paying $250 for the Wii? $600 for the PS3?
I bought an Xbox 1 for $300 back in the day, then they cut the price to $200 a month later. Did I feel ripped off? Not really, because Halo was worth it. I HAVE felt ripped off buying a good amount of software this generation for $50 or $60 though.
Look at it from this angle. You were going to buy it no matter what? Let say it sells gangbusters, you still would have paid 250. When the price would eventually drop, you would get nothing. Now at least you get free games.
As far as I can see, the only reason to buy a 3DS right now is a revamped version of an old N64 game. Not exactly what you want to be trying to sell new cutting edge hardware with, even if the game is awesome. Nintendo should have waited until better software was available. I hope they don't have this issue with the Wii 2, though since nothing besides Zelda and a few RPG's are remaining they should have had plenty of time to get software ready. And I'm thinking that's why the 3DS is lacking; they're focusing more on getting major games onto the Wii 2 since their console success is much more fickle than their handheld business, they probably feel they can afford to slack a bit in the handheld area.
Don't forget Starfox 64. I rather have a new Starfox, but after the recent Starfox games I don't trust they can make a good Starfox anymore. The virtual console has some great games too.
2. By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. These include games like Yoshi’s Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3, Mario Kart™: Super Circuit, Metroid™ Fusion, WarioWare™, Inc.: Minigame Mania and Mario vs. Donkey Kong™. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on Nintendo 3DS in the future.
Whoa.
If that's really the case, then it's almost an incentive to pick one up now.
