Iga, you are the most likely to know this. I was playing Mario DS last night (the side scroller). ANd of course, the music is great. As it is in SMG and the Wii channel etc... Is there one dude at Nintendo who is the mastermind behind all that? Do they have a dedicated group for music for all in-house games? Or is it team by team?
Holy shit, Nintendo is actually taking a loss.
With the strong yen, poor sales of the 3DS and Wii and " absorbing the inventory markdown taken into account with the connection of the price reduction of the Nintendo 3DS". They are making a ¥25.5 billion loss, compared to the ¥25.2 billion last year. Last year the strong yen was also to blame. Nintendo puts all the money they will lose this whole fiscal year because of the yen in the first quater, the other 3 quaters will be much better because of it.
Also
Price drop
You think you can sell a handheld for 250 bucks, Nintendo? You shall pay for this hubris right NOWWWWWW.
$169 for NA from August 12.
The new 3DS price is sweet and it looks like they're giving quite a few free NES & GBA games to early adopters.
I'm still gonna wait for quite a while more though, past the Vita launch, to see which system is best for me.
If I get either that is, maybe a home system + PC by then will keep me happy enough anyway.

Nintedo employee's often switch from teams. Koizumi from Galaxy fame also worked on OoT for example and he invented Z-targeting by watching ninjas and made Link handsome. What a stud.
About your specific question, I just checked the credits of NSMB (DS version) and the music is credited to Asuka Ota and Hajime Wakai. The sound director is of course Konji Kondo. In Galaxy series most of the music is done by Mahito Yokota and Konji Kondo did a few tracks like Good Egg Galaxy and the Observatory. So the common ground is Kondo, but Galaxy soundtrack blows NSMB out of the water. The blows is so hard is achieves escape velocity and flies out in space.
$250 down to $169? Holy Shit.
That's desperate, and it's going to work.
^Desperate?!
They just found the panic button and started mashing it. Holy shit. What will Sony do?
Thanks for that. So Kondo and Yokota are my men. I'll research them some more. Thanks!
Aspro you might want to change the title of the news you just posted.
They don't have to do anything yet... still set to release in "1 region" by the end of the year. Nintendo still needs games to get non-gamers to bite, that Famitsu poll from last month cited "waiting for a game to come out" as one of the lead reasons for Japanese gamers waiting. So Nintendo only has a few months to get a headstart.
But as for Sony and the Vita Price? They were already stretching getting it down to $250, but it's still early enough to gut some features.
I'm trying to think of a company demonstrating this level of panic before. Like, good notable companies, like Nintendo.
I'm looking at the pther news I'd normally be posting, but it's all so small compared to this story.
Nintendo will release Mario 3d Land and Mario Kart 7 (hint check your news headline) this holiday. Vita will go against these two juggernauts and against a cheaper handheld.
^I already fixed it. Thanks.

Leo is here. His head probably exploded. Too late to trade that 3DS in now.
Now get rid of the 2012, it is going to be released in 2011
And to answer your previous question. The original Xbox and the N64 had a quick price drop too.
Xbox doesn't count, they were noobs who didn't know what they were doing. I did not realize the N64 had a price drop, I came to it late.
Xbox launch price was $299, I remember that.
You put Mario Party in the title
I'm tired!
and I'm going to bed.
The life of a farmer.
Wow, $169 for the 3DS. Looks like once again I was right. Price drop before the end of the summer. I'm going to go tweet my buddy Pachter and let him know that yet another Robio prediction came true.
^Hey Nostradamus, we require your foresight.
How will Vader react?
Vader will be thrilled. He'll be happy because now everyone else will buy one and he can discuss all the games he plays on it with everyone else like Ocarina of Time and . . . ummmmm . . . well there's uhhhhh. . . hmmmm. . . nevermind.
