They make anal spray?!
I got my plush slime from Gamestop today. It's actually kind of cute. The shape of it looks more like a pumpkin. The top of the slime kind of resembles a pumpkin stem rather than that kind of pointy waterdrop shape that the slimes actually are. Still, it's good enough for a freebie. Much better than the Pac-Man I got a few months back.
They should ask Sega.
Ewww! Do not want!
Disney closing Black Rock. They were serious about getting out of core gaming. Where does this leave things like Epic Mickey? Do they go back to licensing that out to real developers?
WHY ARE THERE PEOPLE PLAYING JOURNEY AND I AM NOT?!?!?!?!?!?
I am not happy right now.
It's a shame not to see Murray lose in the final, but this should make for a bevtter match.
Here's some Brink. It's not really great like Enemy Territory or even ET: Quake Wars, but it's not bad either.
If they make a sequel with large scale battles or crazy deployables like QW it will maybe feel more unique.
Objectives can be confusing and the chokepoints are annoying though, especially in some escort missions.

The graphics are good, textures don't tile or repeat thanks to the megatexture technology and the characters have crazy designs. The levels are nice too but it somehow fails to draw attention to and promote the more imaginative content so it looks a little mundane. Corridors, stairs, objects to hide behind or climb onto and over. They have a good art style but don't exploit it properly like Team Fortress 2 does. It's also a bit unpolished and isn't as optimised as it should be. Rage will probably easily surpass it both visually and in performance.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds

Yeah, that doesn't look very good to me. Blocky, chunky and flat assets, as if they're ripped straight from Wind Waker with sharper textures on top. The lighting and shadows aren't cel shaded, they're just normal as they would be in any realistic game and too sharp. It doesn't fit well. The plants aren't cartoony either.
More Brink against bots.

I really don't see why it doesn't perform better. It doesn't have huge levels or use of physics or anything. It might as well be Unreal Tournament 2004, on the smaller levels, with better visuals and its own gameplay. My PC should have been able to handle it better. At least it's not bad enough to hinder gameplay for the most part.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How are you liking the actual game -- have you taken it online or just the offline bots mode?
I haven't played online, I wanted to play all the levels through once offline to get how it all works together. I just finished the campaign with both sides vs bots. My thoughts haven't changed, it's fun but doesn't do anything that stands out. The parkour alone don't make it special as the levels don't really seem designed to take advantage of it too well so it's just something that you do without thinking of it, as it happens so naturally and commonly. Other than that it's like Team Fortress 2's crazy graphics and unrealism mixed with Call of Duty's iron sight shooting and rank based unlocks for abilities or equipment bits and pieces.
It feels somewhat barebones, you either hack, blow up, or escort in every level (so really it's either using something to hack or deploy explosives, or escorting something, or trying to stop others from doing these) and the various classes don't have too many special tricks, especially since you can choose any weapons with any class (only restricted by the body type, I only use the medium so far), but maybe that's because I haven't unlocked all their abilities yet, I've opened the general tree and the soldier's skills. Still, I've only seen the standard stuff like deployed turrets, revives, and damage or ammo buffs. It feels like a step back from Quake Wars' crazy huge deployables and vehicles and still similar infantry class based gameplay.
I feel they should have made it as a sequel to Quake Wars rather than the original Enemy Territory as it essentially is now. Objective and class based fast infantry play is nothing new and it's not like they can hope to compete against Call of Duty or Team Fortress 2 (now free...). With large scale warfare with vehicles they'd have a more arcadey and crazy looking version of Battlefield that would be easier to stand out as unique, especially with the crazy stuff they had in Quake Wars such as the snipers calling in air strikes and the engineers deploying massive artillery weapons, all mixed in with futuristic and alien versions of vehicles.
