Comic Legend Alan Moore Teases Video Game Project

If this comes to pass I'll be the first to tell you that it's going to be a dark fucked up game. If you're not familiar with Alan Moore's work he wrote the Watchmen, V For Vendetta, The League of Extrordinary Gentlemen and a lot more. If you've only seen the movies though, you're really not getting the full "jesus this man is dark" material.  Let me give you an example.

The movie League of Extrordinary Gentleman had very little to do with the comic, but if you've seen it you know he uses popular characters like Alan Quartmain, The Invisible Man, Dr. Jeckyl/Mr. Hyde, and Dorian Grey and others from British literature to make a super hero team. He wrote a sequel to it a few years later in which it was discovered that there was a traitor on the team that caused the death of another team member, and eventually it is revealed to be the Invisible Man. When the big hulking Mr Hyde finds out, he ends up seeking revenge and murders him.  And how exactly does he murder him you ask?  Well since you asked, the big hulking Mr. Hyde rapes the Invisible Man to death. Go ahead and just let that settle in your mind, and have a nice weekend.

I am going to go on record and say Gears of War 3 WILL be my Game of the Year for 2011. Thankfully Mass Effect 3 has been delayed until 2012 so I won't be too conflicted with my choice.

This beta has been the best multiplayer game I have ever played. Dedicated servers have made the experience how it should be, lag-free with no host advantage. Excellent weapon balance, a bunch of different finishing executions, cool new weapons added, and a ton of ribbons and medals to acquire and level up. Two of the coolest executions I've seen so far have been ripping the opponent's arm off and beating him with it and ramming the flamethrower into the downed player's stomach and cooking him from the inside out. You can also revive yourself. Hitting the A button repeatedly speeds up the process.

I played a bit of it last night and it was indeed a blast.  Can we play together, archie, or not? I was thinking I could invite a friend, but wasn't sure.

Any other year, I would probably agree that Gears 3 would be my GOTY, but with U3, I don't know.  Batman will provide some competition as well, but no mp, will probably put it behind the others imo.

I think this may be the year that COD falls off -- I mean technically this is going to be Call of Duty 8.  Everyone who has seen Battlefield 3 gushes all over it.

True, but then not even dual analog can save it. But who makes relevant 3D platfomers anyways? Besides Nintendo of course? Tokyo EAD is making a Mario 3DS and that is all that matters to me.
