If wasn't so lazy I could walk upstairs into the kids' playroom (aka my former media center) and watch it on the Wii upstairs. But everytime I go in there I start to cry when I look at how they destroyed the room.
Yeah I'm getting pissed, bought a game on PSN 2 nights ago not sure if it even works yet still
Happy Birthday Bugs and GG!
Remember last year in February when they stopped working altoghter? Nothing tops that insanity. NOTHING.
You turned your game room into a play room for the kids?
Snippets from Big Download:
EA going to offer subscription plans. Well it says they may offer games to download early that would be HUGE. They would sell a ton of subscriptions if people could play Madden early. Evil geniuses, I hate it.
I can understand EA's desire to build closer relationships with their end-users. But how many logins/ subscriptions can you handle?
Me? Very few. 1 at most. I always find it a pain in the ass to unlock DLC from the publishers like EA nad THQ who ask you to set up seperate accounts.
EDIT: However, I do like the idea of a subscription for sports games. I mean, I buy MLB The Show every year, so If I could pay about the same and get more, then I'm for that. And yeah, Madden is a religion, just as FIFA is, so EA will be able to pull it off.
I finished Portal 2, it took me about 9 hours. That ending was pretty epic.

The... the Wesker guy.... just sitting in his sunglasses...... it was awful.
Time to tell you guys why De Blob 2 is good.
Well, there is no game changer, no big idea that you can grasp onto. Superficially the 2D sections look like that, but what makes De Blob 2 better than the first is tons of mini-improvements.
Firstly, the visuals are improved, about an hour and a half in you will notice, it's richer, crisper with a steadier framerate and it has more effects, reflections, enhanced depth of field stuff. I'd say it looks about 15% better than the first game. But I assume if you get the PS3 or 360 version you will get HD clarity to the picture if you are playing on an HDTV.
The only difference the enchanced visuals provides is that everything seems a little more tangible and solid.
Now onto the little things that are improved. Well firstly the game is less of a freeform fun park where you just pootle about painting stuff, the game always drives you forward making you feel like you have a solid direction as to what you are doing and why you are doing it. Just at the right moment it will point you to your next objective and it's not just pointless stuff like in the first game - do this challenge etc.
There are powerups too, the hazmat suit lets you enter ink areas unharmed, there is a Metal Mario type powerfup that lets you stick to magnetic surfaces. A few levels in the 2D sections get more complicated, they start to introduce Mario Galaxy style gravity and antigravity parts.
Remember in the first game where you would gain the colour of the paint bot you rolled over? This is changed so you have to deliberatly lock on and jump on them so there is no annoying accidental colour changes this time.
When you gain a new mission the game puts an objective mark up which gently fades away after a few seconds.
The 2D sections are a nice addition. They don't approach Mario Galaxy or Sonic Colours complexity, but they flow nicely and feel easy and fun to play.
The music is just as good. If you downloaded the free soundtrack a while ago you might not have thought so because the mp3 is just the backing track. When you change colours and start painting the tracks are fleshed out with instruments. Love the music in this game, latin, jazz, funk, this is all my kind of music and honestly what other game out there has tunes like this to play to?
There are explosive ink barrels to avoid, spikes on building sides, flames and electric hazards, water spouts that strip you of your colour. Lots of new enemies with different ways to beat them. You also no longer have to roll over all the radians to free them individually.
There's not much to complain about here, it's just a happy, fun game and still retains that feeling from the first game where you take a drab black and white world and gradually bring it back to life. It's reflected in the visuals, in the music and in the gameplay and is very much a joy to play.
If you have the first game you may think that you don't want or need a sequel - I felt the same, but when I played it the game completely changed my mind. It's a high quality game and very fun to boot. Snap it up if you can, it's very cheap to pick up and may be the last De Blob game if the sales are poor.
On another note, it would have been cool to see a 3DS version too.
There is good innovation and bad innovation. Which is this?
Bad. Games built around those features could be fun (see: AR games) but Uncharted? Lol. Hope it's bs.

According to what we've heard so far, Uncharted 2 has you stroking the back of the NGP to descend from vines and pointing the NGP at the sun or at a lamp in dark areas. And to pick up weapons in Resistance you have to swipe your hand in front of the camera? What the crap?
Latest Wii 2 rumours
More details about Project Café, the controller and streaming
According to 01net, the French website that has led many of the supposed leaks so far, the controller for the Wii HD will be “a close cousin” of the UDraw tablet from THQ
The display on the controller is not high definition, but instead at a resolution in the range of 800 by 500 pixels.
They re-iterate a June 2012 time-frame for release, but say by that point the design of the controller could change. But for now, the mockup below is supposedly the most accurate:
The website is unable to confirm the final name of the console, but they refer to Stream, which is the rumored name as “a plausible and clever choice.” They then elaborate on the possible streaming functionality of Nintendo’s next system:
The console will be able to stream wirelessly streaming multiple types of streams (different media, games) to the knobs. This will make it possible to play without turning on the TV, or start a frenzied games on the big screen, and continue uninterrupted into the toilet.

Eh.
It didn't quite go down like that, but.... yeah. When we bought our house there was a media room upstairs. Nothing spectactular, but it had a large SDTV and entertainment center built into the wall and a comfy couch so it was the natural place to play my games. About 8 months later we bought a large flat screen TV and decided to put it in the living room which had no TV at all prior to this. So a switch then occurred. I left the media room and started watching my movies and playing games on the big TV in the living room and the kids moved from the TV in the kitchen to the now rarely used media room.
Tough trade-off since the media room was more of a closed off sanctuary, but the living room has better climate control since it's not upstairs (crucial to have in summer) and the better TV. But ooooh the memories...
These are some of the magnetic platforms that you can stick too in Metal mario mode. The platforms rotate.
It's got some mario galaxy style 2D bits later in the game.
I just finished up a level which left me feeling euphoric. It's a series of towers you have to scale from bottom to top and clear. This picture only shows perhaps a quarter of the actual height of it. It's reminiscent of the Mario Galaxy level Buoy Base I think its called. Music track is heavenly on this level and its huge too.
VIDEO here: Guy is in the early stages where the music hasn't kicked in yet.
Are they suggesting that the PS3 is 50% more powerful than the 360? Because I don't see it, sorry. And if that's indeed the case and yet you can't tell a difference, then the new Nintendo will basically look exactly the same as PS3 visually....at a 30% increase.
