What mess? You might wanna start adressing something clearly instead of throwing out blanket statements, unless you want people to stop taking you seriously. I would be hard pressed to find a standard by which ME2 can be considered "a mess". You have issues with plot inconsistencies? Let's discuss them. Don't like the toning down of RPG elements in the game in favor of a more streamlined shooter approach? Are there technical flaws with the game's performance? I'm not saying the game is perfect, but come on.
Throwing out ridiculous shit such as "people who like Bioware games must be brainwashed or have brain damage, hurrrrrrrr" without anything solid to back it up leaves you in a pretty poor standing. I love the games, but I can respect contrary opinions on them as long as they're presented with facts. Something you fail to provide.
Take2 has been positioning itself for an aquistion for about 3 years now (remember the failed EA bid about a two years ago).
If Activision bought Take2 it would be a disaster for gamers. Activision's management has consistently shown themselves to be incapable of nurturing new talent and franchises.
My playtime with Mass Effect was limited to a few hours. I did not ever feel like I was in control of the game.
- My dialog choices would often have the same result regardless of what I chose (so why include them?).
- The shooting mechanics were very unsatisfying.
- I found the party system strange, it felt like they were throwing a new party member at you every 20 minutes.
- It was glitchy. Like elevators taking off but leaving the people inside behind.
I spent a lot of time just wandering around lost, not sure as to what to do next (and there was a lot of aimless walking long distances between activation points).
I'm not saying it's bad, since I did not play enough of it, but it certainly made a bad first impression on me.
I thought the story was ok and the combat simplistic and not very fun in ME2. There wasn't enough variation in weapons and armor. It wasn't deep like an RPG and it wasn't fun like a shooter. The choices didn't affect much of importance outside the end game. The whole mineral mechanic was a chore, not challenging or fun in any way, just a time consuming grind. The vehicle sections were bleh, basically shallow and not challenging or fun platforming. The dialogues were drawn out. There wasn't much to explore anywhere, mostly just a linear path from A to B in every location. Maybe some back and forth for a quest or two in areas like that club, which were also fairly small. Many locations also looked very artificial, designed and blocked off in very gamey ways. It looked pretty sweet though and visiting the crash site was pretty atmospheric (but then somewhat ruined by the dogtag chasing). It had a few other nice moments too, especially with female Shepard. Overall I thought the first Mass Effect seemed more ambitious even though it didn't deliver on all fronts. The sequel could have done that, but didn't. At least they were mostly polished (on PC at least). Just so very limited in scope & gameplay.
As for Bioware in general, you can't judge them without playing the likes of Baldur's Gate II and Icewind Dale. Some of the finest and most complete experiences around, with the combat being the highlight (in my opinion). I didn't even know D&D rules and gave up on the games twice but later discovered it doesn't take long to figure it all out and have a tactical blast. The story is entertaining enough in both. The former has more of that, the latter is mostly about crawling, but both are great, just with a different focus. While both are linear you can do some nice things using your stats and skills in ways other than all out combat, especially in Baldur's Gate II of course. Although they also suffer from the fake choices that result in the same outcome that are in Mass Effect 1 & 2, at least they aren't shoved in your face as some grand thing, and you can often influence things, in small ways. I wasn't a fan of more recent Bioware titles but I think they still have it in them, if they decide to focus.

Fedor lost again! Stupid doctor stopped the amazing fight, so what if Fedor cant see out of one eye he has another. That second round was incredible, Fedor was beat about a million times, a normal human would have lost many times yet he survived the full 5 minutes.
His career is on its way down, time to think of retiring or changing something.
FEDOR SAID IT HIMSELF, ITS TIME TO RETIRE. WOW.
He basically just gave his retirement speech. Good for him, he knows when its time to step down.
Where is my post? I responded to this dumb post already. You have a tendancy of reading too much into things that mean nothing. Eggmeister is not trying to discuss anything, he is making large sweeping insults at everyone that likes the game, I addressed that and that is all. If he really wants to get into a discussion I can do that.
Enslaved. Would have been my number #2 game for 2010 had I played it last year (for games released in 2010).
People had bitched about the ending -- I thought it was way better than most.
Completely impressed and now hopeful for Ninja Team's take on DMC. I loved heavenly Sword until the cheap ending, with this game they have completely redeemed themsleves.
If you don't have a PS3 (and have a 360), pick this game up, it's the closest thing to Uncharted 2 you are going to find.
Very glad you enjoyed it!
...
He was just trolling, but you have used that argument before. Look at Steel's reply, much better and did not have to invoke the critical response of the game. Seriously stop using everyone likes it and therefore it is true/good response. History is filled with these things.

Dammit, Fedor lost to this guy?
Yeah, time to hang up. Should I watch it? Or would it just leave me depressed?
