Then we get to today, where I've completely given up on the situation. NBA Elite 11 has been delayed into 2011, but NBA Jam is hitting 360 and PS3 this year, just at a later date than the Wii version. We've come all the way from having a Wii-exclusive game, to a multiplatform release that lacks online play for Wii, but features it for the competition. Even worse, this retail release on other platforms could very well feature all the modes that the Wii version has. That leaves multiplatform owners with very little reason to pick the Wii version. I was so happy to see the Wii getting such big support from a very well-loved brand, but now the Wii outing is likely to get skipped over by most customers for a later PS3/360 release.

It's almost as if EA didn't have faith in the Wii game to begin with. They put the word out that it was Wii only, and perhaps they did so to see what the reaction would be. That's just speculation on my part, but now we're seeing a 360/PS3/Wii release. I understand that EA is out to make money, and they feel this is the best way to do so. I get that they are a business, and that's what they're out to do. That doesn't mean I can't be upset with the decision, or peeved with the way things were handled.

I'll still be buying my Wii version on launch day. As I said, I'm not going to fault the devs on this one. Their hard work deserves to be seen, and I want to see the game how it was first announced...Wii only. Does this help that I complain and still buy the game? I'm sure it just goes to further the decisions EA has made thus far, so maybe I'm doing nothing but bad. At the very least, I am being 100% honest with you guys. I'd love to hear what you have to say on the subject.

My dry spell ended last night. Reached the last chapter of Valkyria. I have three classes mastered, and will master the remaining two before proceeding to the final battles.
