Seriously though that little description you gave you could do for any game, for instance: Elebits is in a unique setting, no other game has the art and visuals it does. No other game does physics like it does, no other game has music like it does. No other game lets you open cuboards and drawers in the way it does. In what other game can you turn a water fosset and have little creatures come out to shoot?

You could do the do same for most other games, Red Steel 2 for instance. What other game is set in a west meets east cel shaded, city setting, with motionplus combat?

Doesn't mean it's mindblowing, it's still nothing more than a 9.0 game or less, and there are plenty of those these days. Rollercoaster combat?

So Civ 5 and Dead Rising 2 managed to break street down here, and here I'd be telling you just how amazing Civ 5 is...except thanks to it being a Steam game, I can't even fucking INSTALL the thing until tomorrow. LAME.

Though that being said, I noticed something quite weird in the inside cover to the game:

I personally love how "WE HAVE STEAM DRM! THAT'S A GOOD THING" and "WE HAVE NO MANUAL AND WE'RE DONATING MONEY TO CHARITY" are bullet points.

The manual thing shocks me as well. There's literally a page that briefly explains how to control the game, a page that details various things about the different types of installation...and a couple of pages for legal stuff.

If bleeding persists, stick in the gauze swabs they gave me. Take painkillers to manage the pain. Swelling and bruising may persist for 2 weeks. Apply ice packs to reduce swelling. You will have blood stained saliva for several days. Do not smoke, drink alchohol or excercise for 48 hrs. Bathe your mouth in a salt/water solution 3 times a day after 24 hrs. Stiches will dissolve etc. Any problems call the emergency line.

I'll have to finish the updates later. I got to go out and get some painkillers stat.

sounds similar to when I had my accident and had all those internal stitches.  of course i didn't have to worry about food as I was on IV drip for five days, it must be horrible for you not being able to eat at all.  was it a wisdom tooth?  i know that can be very tricky and a girl I knew once compared it to labour pains.

Games for PlayStation Move and Microsoft's Kinect are for a mass market, and therefore much cheaper and quicker to develop than core titles, according to THQ.

Discussing plans for Sony and Microsoft's new motion controllers at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia Conference in New York, THQ CEO Brain Farrell said, "They are more mass-market type games. The cost of games for Kinect and Move is a fraction of what it is for the stuff we showed for you on the screen [Red Faction: Armageddon and Homefront].

"They are just simpler forms of game where it's more based on your movement and the input device; not on fantastic art and very complex animations. That's the other reason we like those two products – the cost of development is much lower than for the other core products."

Microsoft might disagree. It was at pains to show off more core-orientated Kinect titles at the Tokyo Game Show last week, including Codename D from Suda51 and Project Draco from Panzer Dragoon director Yukio Futatsugi.

THQ has announced two games for Kinect so far: The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout, available from 4th November, and UFC Trainer, which hits the mat on 1st January 2011.
