Oh yeah and congrats to dvader and robio.
I will start in Miami, if nothing comes up then I will see where life takes me.
Congrats man, and best of luck.
I wish I can play it. My PC is still ancient compared to what's out there today. I need a new PC soon and fast. So I can play this game!
Also, I think SCII is the most significant and important release of this gen, or maybe even the past ten years! It's really something to think about that a PC game from Blizzard is more significant than any game released on consoles!
Blizzard's crazy. I think they're really the top and most influential developers ever! As a company, Nintendo dominates the world, but as a developer, Blizzard does. No other company does those things, IMO.

Aks, don't take this the wrong way, but you are batshit insane
Starcraft II the most important release this gen
Wii Sports is the most important release this gen, does not matter how much you 'hardcore' cry about it. Can fight the facts baby.
True. Only consoles have generations. Can't argue facts.
Also true. So I am double right.
Edit: On PC WoW would be the most important release. Shit is revolutionary and ruined many lives in the process. Can't get more influential than that.
Yup. In terms of scope and financial success, I doubt any PC IP, new or existing, can reach the muscle and influence that WoW has achieved anytime soon. It gave Blizzard enough power to deal with the Activision merger in equal grounds with the publishing giant.
StarCraft II is the most important PC release of this year, and the biggest on a long time, but it's on a different ballpark than something with the mass market appeal of Wii Sports, especially considering how it singlehandedly kickstarted the motion control frenzy. A trend so prevalent now that has made both of Nintendo's competitors eat a good bowl of crow and develop their own motion control peripherals.
If you're going to give it to WoW for that reason you'd probably have to give it to EverQuest instead. Everything WoW did, EQ did first. WoW just made all of it easier so more people would want to play it. But all the addictions, suicides, ruined relationships, firings, and more first started with EQ.
Don't sell SCII short Steelio. When it comes to RTS with mass market appeal, you do not get much bigger that Star Craft. Game will probably sell 5 million in Korea alone. Maybe 10 million world wide.
Well you always have a game that done things first, and games that had the break though success. EQ is more revolutionary and also a big success at the time, but WoW is so much bigger and still going strong.
But you are right when you say EQ is more revolutionary.
Also special mention has to go to Eve Online. Just for the sheer epic betrayals. Reading stories of shit happening on Eve Online is probably more epic than playing the game.
Yeah, I've been playing Starcraft. Really digging it, though it's a very "one step forward, one step back kind of game". I say this having been a huge fan of Dawn of War II, which all but eliminated base, resource and (traditional) unit management. So while it's great to go back to a game like this, it also feels like a dated game.
However, I'm liking everything else about the game. All the little touches are fantastic, the between mission stuff really cool...yes, it does suck that there's no Zerg/Protoss campaign, but then again, Dawn of War player here (the other races were added in campaigns in later expansions).
I was precisely wondering how would SC's anachronic management of bases/resources would stack up today when compared to RTS games that have done away for good with this particular issue years ago.
*anachronistic.
...okay, actually I know that because I immediately thought of anachronistic cron.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI've been reading quite a bit about Eve Online lately and it is had to grasp how playing the game could outdo thinking and reading about the game. It;s an amazing concept and it is even more impressive that it's actaully working and people are doing what they are.
I guess I mean gamers who actually read reviews. Ones who don't end up buying Carnival games
Or FIFA
Sounds like you want to have your cake and eat it.
