In other news, got back from a screening of Toy Story 3. Easily the best movie of the year by far, though I wouldn't recommend seeing it in 3D. If only because, well, the glasses do nothing. Really - the effect is very subdued, and you're better off in 2D.
Though speaking of 3D, it was great to get a groan out of everyone in the theater whenever a trailer concluded by saying the movie will be in 3D. Twas quite awesome.
Also, this was quite a shock to see:
Pretty obvious, but still.
You have four different classes to choose from: Scout, Soldier, Hero and Scientist. In general (and I say this because you can change defaults as you earn experience), The Scout (Car) is fast and can cloak. The Soldier (tank) is strong. Leaders (Trucks) can Buff other characters. Scientists (Jets) can Heal others...
You earn experience for the class you are playing through multiple different modes: Team Deatmatch, Conquest (Capture and Hold), Power Struggle (Capture the Flag), and Countdown to Extinction (Base Destruction), among others.
The experience you earn can be applied to different starting weapons, buffing your character, etc.
You DO NOT play as the heroes in the usual Online Battles. You play as Autobot and Decepticon grunts.
There's also an Escalation Mode (similar to GoW's Horde Mode) where you CAN play as the Heroes.
I find I am NOT very good at online play, and besides that, there doesn't seem to be a way to mute other players...
Within 3 minutes of being online, I heard repeatedly: "FUCKIN' FAGGOT, FUCKIN FAGGOT, FUCKIN FAGGOT..."
Sometimes, I just REALLY can't stand the average gamer's mentality.
I TRULY wish a few of you had this game so I had some NORMAL people to play it with...
Someone who is hyping yet another sonic game has no right to talk down on Kirby. Besides Canvas Curse, or Power Paintbrush got nine's everywhere.
Kirby wishes it had any game as good as Sonic has had.
The video above does a good job of showing various elements. Gadgets for stealth, weapons for action. The levels are better and more varied than indicated though, not just rooms, and it doesn't show CQC, the base gameplay, recruiting soldiers, co-op or vs play, etc. Then again, there are other videos showing those well enough, like this.
This truly is Metal Gear Solid 5 in scope, and does many new, cool things for the series' style, pacing, and gameplay rather than be content to offer a portable rehash of what's come before, like Portable Ops did in some ways (though it still had elements I enjoyed, which return here, and a few more I wish had returned). It's a sequel.

Almost all of the gaming press is hyping it. I don't know. GS seems to be picking unusual choices for their awards lately (like them being the only ones to Demon's Souls for GOTY).
I think it's a bit premature to be guessing scores for it -- who knows, might redefine gaming as we know it. But to your point, remember the hype coming out for Scribblenauts coming out of E3 09? Then when it came out it got respect, but most reviewers went, "meh".

Holy CRAP!!!!! New King's Quest Game Coming !!!!!! This is epic news. There have been some amazing fan made remakes of the classic Sierra Online adventures games, but this was going to be the first truly amazing built from scratch fan game. Then Activision came along sent the develops are legal "fuck you" aka a cease and desist. To see that it's finally going to come out is amazing. Activision may have actually listened to the fans demands.
Cannot wait for this now.
Good news about The Silver Lining, last I heard the project got a cease and desist but I guess they changed mind, possibly as they try to not look completely evil these days with all the Kotick crap, heh. I hope it's a good game, most of the art is really, really nice but a good adventure game needs much more than that of course.

I'm pretty sure that the Silver Lining will at least be a good game. I doubt it'll hold up to KQVI, but for all the time and care that was put into it, I'm sure there's at least a decent story there.
By the way if you haven't played ADGI's remake of KQ II you need to get it - http://www.agdinteractive.com/ - They did an amazing job with it. It's the perfect example of how to take an old bare bones adventure game and great enhance the story while staying true to the spirit of the game.
Edit: oh yeah, I also played through 6 Days a Sacrifice, it's quite a good and disturbing freeware adventure game and part of a full series by Yahtzee (all the Days and Trilby stuff are part of it, except The Art of Theft which is an amazing little side scrolling stealth game instead). It's probably best to play them all in order but some are pretty crude in comparison, at least in their interface, but yeah, it was really great.
Though my favorite of all of the above has to be Beneath a Steel Sky, everyone should play that game. Everyone!

Yeah sorry about that. And this E3 was really incredible. Much better than the previous shitfests we had. Well E3 2009 was decent, but 2008 and 2007 wanted to make me throw up.
But yeah I'm really starting to cut down on forum posting now. Takes up too much time and I'm getting sick and in some ways irritated with Gaf.
