So how do I make Link?
Make a crude green block and smudge a few gold blocks onto it.
That's what Miyamoto did with the original.
Back to Vagrant Story replay for me (got it on PSP, it's been a while, since the original PS1 release), the art in this game is so brilliant, as are the characters and the incredible ye olde English translation/rewriting it went through.
And some screens I took of early FFXII areas on emulator. I'm far past that point now but fraps is a little buggy with the emulator, after taking a few screens it sometimes crashes costing me progress so I don't use it.
Far more progressive game than what I played of FFXIII in my opinion, what with the seamless and MMO-ish combat (but weird leveling system, which I hear was changed in the International Edition to include the awesome Jobs system), crowded cities to explore, etc. Quite impressive for a PS2 game also, and the same artist as Vagrant Story (and FFTactics, another awesome game with an awesome story) as well, though it's not so evident in these screens, it's obviously visible in other areas. And it's the same world as FFTactics just far into the future or something so it has modern/sci-fi elements on top. I prefer fantasy but still, cool.
The screens are much higher res if you open them in a different window or save them.

The Shiggy interview above is one of the best I can remember.
However, he reveals the cluelessness Nintendo has about the online issues they have. I've heard them say before that their online strategy is quite good and they cite VC, WiiWare and builtin-wifi -- which is true, but they never seem to get the problems that friend codes create. Here he again doesn't get it, and thinks that we are all yearning for MMO experiences (maybe Nintendo thinks we all want a WoW like experience on the the Wii).
Online multiplayer is an area in which Nintendo’s taken small steps – do you feel the company has a firm strategy in this area?
To be honest, I think it’s rather unfair whenever I hear such comments – that Nintendo isn’t proactive when it comes to its online strategy. The fact of the matter is that we always want all Wii consoles to be connected online, all the time, so Nintendo has never been less than proactive in that kind of endeavour.
It is true, though, that Nintendo hasn’t been very proactive in developing such online activities as an MMOG. But when it comes to our endeavours that try to take advantage of internet technology, where we can provide our customers with more fun and entertainment, then I think we can say we have been very, very proactive and well-received. And that attitude won’t be changed at all in the future. But probably the other thing that we are desperate to realise is the core business structure. Do we need to demand customers pay monthly fees to enjoy online activities? Or give an online subscription that is free of charge, but then offer something extra for people that pay, so that they get some extra value? With these core business strategies I think we are less active than we should be.
Of course they love it! Hey Pizanos!

Yeah FFXII is awesome and it is better than FFXIII. Though Foolz seems to think its some horrible game that everyone hates.

Half the time they didn't even have a boss battle, though. I've got no problem with the final boss battle, becuase you know, it actually was a boss battle. It used the lack of awesomeness in terms of battle of the batman characters well, but most of the time the game didn't. Harley's a good example of that. That goon battle was incredibly uncreative, and really a pace killer for me.
WTF? This Rare's new logo?
