I think as gamers we are a gadget mad group. If PSP2 has new features and beefier hardware and looks sleek and sexy, it will get the hype, regardless of the previous machines performance. I think the biggest problem PSP had was that its whole premise was being a portable PS2 and to make a handheld game on the level of a PS2 game, it's just not economically viable.
Doing a 2-D DS game or a DS game with crude 3D is a lot cheaper and easier. 3DS, if it has GC graphics is going to run into the same problems. Why not just make a Wii game at that cost? So instead you'll see cross pollination of titles, PSP2 and 3DS might even get the same versions of games. If PSP2 is a quad core cell processor though, visually it could be a beast.
the irish herald story does not link to the correct story and i couldn't find it under their entertainment section either
edit: nevermind, found it under most popular. it reads more like an advertisement of the game than a complaint

IGN - 10/10
I think the one thing you should take away from this review: Super Mario Galaxy 2 wholly exceeded my expectations. Leading up to the game’s release I hadn’t expected much more than simply “more of the same.” I loved the original Super Mario Galaxy, but the company would have to do something pretty special to really “wow” me.
Consider me “wowed.” Again. Yes, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is more of what made the original so amazingly good: brilliant gravity platfoming. Incredibly tight and responsive controls. Fantastic musical score. But it’s not a “me too” experience -- a significant majority of this sequel is brand new. New level challenges, new gameplay mechanics, new (and incredible) orchestral pieces. All done up in a package that streamlines the classic Mario experience: a straightforward presentation, a much more intelligent camera system, and a rewarding progression that opens up some seriously devious and fulfilling level challenges.
Mario has always been a universally appealing game design and Nintendo has done an incredible job to make sure its key franchise is just as accessible to gamers of all walks of life. Most of all, Super Mario Galaxy 2 perfectly captures that classic videogame charm, the reason why most of us got into gaming from the start.

Bottom Line: Super Mario Galaxy 2 doesn't tinker with the established formula very much, but we didn't really want it to. It's huge, brilliant, and gorgeous. It's why you started playing videogames in the first place.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is thus simultaneously more and less than its predecessor. It expands and elaborates on the gameplay in unpredictable ways, but the last one felt like a bigger, more complete adventure. That said, better core gameplay with less window dressing is infinitely preferable to the reverse.

Also, I've been playing some Bayonetta again. I started over because I first tried it on easy and it was way too easy! Playing it on normal difficulty (which is the only one until you unlock hard) makes the game truly shine. On easy, the bad guys died too easily and too quickly which gave me no time to pull off crazy moves and combos. But on normal, I'm pulling off crazy moves and it's quite fun.
It's great to play games that are challenging yet it doesn't feel cheap or frustrating. I'm also playing Bullet Witch and although this game had potential, it is one of the most frustrating and badly designed games I've ever played!

Gaming is about to start sucking. I hope Nintendo never develops a fuller online strategy so I can keep buying complete games.
I don't like that idea. Because what if the game sells poorly and it sucks? Than that means investing in DLC makes no sense, which also means we won't have any for that game.
Here's an idea to the developers: you want your games to sell well? Than make good games. Plain and simple plan, right? Like Red Dead Redemption or Super Mario Galaxy 2. These are amazing games that are worth the price of admission.
But of course, there are also great games that don't sell as it should, like Bayonetta, which is unfortunate.
But back to the DLC idea, I don't like it. Aren't developers already doing that like leaving out content or selling content that wasn't made into the game to be sold as DLC? This would take it to another level.
It seems like the guy's theory from the Namco article is similar to episodic content, which from past developers who did this proves that it doesn't really work that well.

Just got my mag of Gamepro, and guess what I see.
Killzone 3 baby!
I'll take pictures of the screenshots later and post them and the information included in the article.
Included in the article (while im reading)
- Will show the Helghast have humanity left in them.
- Will have the feeling that "of being in a place far away from home, outnumbered by people who want to kill you."
- Will be like Inglorious Basterds.
- All of the characters in the screenshots are flying in.. jetpacks?!
- Will include arctic levels.
- One mission in the game involves rescuing ISA Captain Narville.
- Game is playable in 3D!
- Have to wear 3D glasses, apparently the 3D effects are "crazy."
- Combat is "unchanged from predecessor."
- Or is it? Hand to hand combat involves you "Unloading a string of different (and often brutal) attacks on stunned enemies."
- The scale is supposed to be "bigger this time."
- The Jetpacks are "surprisingly lightweight and agile, Killzone 3's jetpack is easier to maneuver compared to the sluggish incarnations of the gadget found in other games."
- New weapon called the Wasp, basically shoots a "flurry of rockets" at an enemy.
- Will show off the Helgjast culture.
- There is actually a Helghast language, which will be explored in the game.
- Will have "diverse locales."
- Have to sit in the center of the 3D tv for the 3D effects to work.
- 3D in this game is called a "Game Changer."
- Going to have "Intense Action"
- Jetpacks double as a weapon, which basically means a machine gun mounted right on top of it.
- If you shoot Helghast with jetpacks, they'll "explode like roman candles"
- To control the jetpack, you "have to activate bursts of speed in midair, propelling yourself across further distances."
- The Jetpack resembles something you'd do in platformers such as Super Mario Bros. Or Uncharted
- In one mission, you have to use the jetpack by "launching yourself from glacier to glacier"
- You'll see "a lot of" snow levels.
- Everything is more spread out in this game.
- The game looks very complete.

"2 days ago I was able to play Killzone 3 behind closed doors in Amsterdam and have to say that it looks crazy.
The graphics are still based on the same engine as its predecessor, but was immensely improved.
While the playable areas of the second part of the series were pretty linear, we can assume that there will be wider areas like those of Battlefield BC 2.
What impressed me the most in the 30 minutes were the snow effects. It just looks fantastic how the snow lays down on the weapon and melts when shooting - and all that in 3D!
To be honest, I was a bit sceptical but KZ3 looks phenomenal in 3D, the explosions, the rain and the snow seem to be so real, that hollywood blockbusters like Avatar pale in comparison.
According to Guerilla each exemplar will be shipped with 2 killzone-styled 3D glasses.
I can't say anything about the controls, because Sony didn't show anything about them, but KZ3 is targeted to be played with a generic controller or the Arc.
