April Fools' Day 2010 roundup
I got taken today, the cubscast.com podcast started with a late trade announcement that the Cubs were moving the albatross that is Alfonso Soriano to the Padres. Sadly, it was an April Fools lie.
It's dead everywhere today. Is it because of Easter?
Sadly, I actually want that game now (on WiiWare of course).

Lovely art for Last Story.
Why are we getting so much location and art info but no screens or gameplay. Seems weird.

That's almost as bad as when they show a game at E3 and 3 years later we are still waiting.

Yeah. The art is incredible!
I can't wait to see what this game is like. It better come here or I'll throw my Wii out the window!
Okay, I won't do that but I'll be mad!

YES!!! This would be a awesome way of getting back at Activision. IGN wrote a recent article saying how the map pack was the biggest rip-off and scam among DLCs. $15 for 3 new maps and 2 recycled ones is a slap in the gaming communities face. I didn't buy it at all and don't care too.
The free maps for Battlefield Bad Company 2 on the other hand is pretty cool! Even though they're just interchanged maps of previous ones, the way it's laid out makes them feel like new maps!
I hope EA/Dice does these things more so maybe Modern Warfare 2 players will come over to the light!

I really enjoyed Modern Warfare 2 but if Activision is going to spit on our faces like this, I just don't see how I can support them.

10. THE WITCHER: RISE OF THE WHITE WOLF
The Witcher, a PC RPG, had a lot going for it. An interesting combat system, a vast fantasy world, an approach to moral decisions that rivals Mass Effect's. But more than that, it had ornately hand-painted norks. Yes, our voluptuously haired hero was a dab hand with the steel blade, but he was a dabber hand with the fleshy one. And being, as it was, a classy Eastern European developed venture, every lady bedded rewarded you with a picture of herself in the nude. Often performing some kind of ludicrous erotic act, such as ladling milk down herself. Needless to say, PC gamers were willing to forgive some of its shortcomings.
Happy was the day that original devs, CD Projekt RED STUDIO, announced a 360 port on the way courtesy of French developers Widescreen Games. A game that had blossomed on PC thanks to patches and tweaking would arrive on consoles in its perfected state. Even better perhaps, thanks to a new combat system and a reworking of enemy AI, boss battles and character development. Having played through the PC version - hunting down the lady cards like a sexier version of the US Army's most-wanted Iraqi deck - we couldn't wait to get reacquainted.
Unfortunately, CD Projekt couldn't wait to get reacquainted either - after Widescreen failed to meet development deadlines they cut funding. The two companies parted and Rise of the White Wolf has been put on indefinite hold. For the time being you'll have to get your painted perv-o-thrills the old fashioned way.
Played some MGS4 last night and man this game is sooooooooo freakin' awesome! First off the game looks bloody gorgeous. I'm also really digging the new mechanics of the gameplay especially being able to now move while croutched. The story is typical Kojima greatness so far with incredible attention to detail and deeply philosophical. It's really cool manuvering around the area while these opposing forces battle each other. There's lots of different ways you can take to reach your goal and a lot of nooks and crannies to sneak to and from.
The Mk. II is a great little device you can use to scout ahead and disarm traps with as well as distracting and taking out enemies.
I also tried some of the online game and it's the same terrific fun as MGS3 was only even better. I'm really looking forward to playing more online after I play through the main game at least once.
Can't wait to play this
