Air-an? Really? Ha! I've always pronounced it correctly then.
Everyone called it Zeebs. Nintendo screwed up, its Zeebs.
I always pronounced Zebes as Zay-beez.
I'm for gay.
And since you guys were dying for impressions on the game, allow me to tell you about the last hour I spent playing Super Monkey Ball Step and Roll. Picked it up for the kids tonight, along with the Data East Collection since Amazon screwed up my order, and I ended up playing it for about an hour.
It's the best game Sega ever made starring a monkey (this generation. . . on consoles). Lots of bright colors and fun music. That's about all the positive stuff I can say about the game.
It's really not that bad. Visually it's actually very slick and moves seemlessly. It runs at 60 FPS and looks damn good doing so. I've been playing with the balance board though and I'll tell you it's just way too sensitive. You have to either be a monkey or maybe Spider-Man (and not gay Spider-man) to really be effective with the balance board. Lean forward too far in one direction and you'll lose control and once you do it's extremely hard to get it back.
At any rate I'm probably done with the game. Fortunately the kids seem to like it so that's something. And I may give it a try again later just using the Wiimote. Time will tell. However, this did inspire me to make a list of reviews for games I've played that utilize the Balance Board.

If you had consulted the resident pedant, you would have known this much earlier. I see no surprise.

Gaiden is a Japanese term. It creates a dipthong as 'a' is soft, and the 'i' is pronounced as a long 'e'.
Gah-ee-den
In usage, it will slur together into Guy-den.

Well, we can still correct other pronunciations! First is Ryu, which is pronounced "Ree-oo" not "Rye-oo"
