That's awesome, I love it. I don't care if he's one person or not nor do I care if the game sold millions or not he deserves to get his ass nailed to the wall and perhaps it will wake others up and there'll realise that doing this sort of thing is a serious crime. This is music to my ears.

So they look like money-hungry bastards because they don't want people stealing from them? Pfft! I think that's absurd. If someone stole from me I'd sure as hell do more then just fine them. The notion that it's ok to steal from a company that makes money from their product is flat-out ridiculous. It's entertainment not a necessity of life like food.

But wouldn't a large percentage of the 1.5million dollars they're forcefully taking from him be spent on necessities of life?

So if someone copied a released product of yours without buying it and you had no way of knowing if they'd actualyl buy it or not, you'd be pissed off on the off chance that they might have bought it?

Huh? What do you mean something that doesn't exist? Also I didn't say it was "more serious" then anything else just that I consider it a serious problem.

Yes, and I was implying in an exagerrated way that it's not a serious problem.

By it doesn't exist I mean intellectual property and copyright infringement are not tangible things. If you steal a handbag or a car (to use the DVD's analogy) that means that nobody else can have that car or handbag because it is a physical thing, where as if you pirate a game at the very worst all you can say is that the potential buying of a game did not take place, which requires a fair bit of speculation in most cases if you ask me!

I can steal anything else and simply say that I wasn't going to buy it anyway but that doesn't make it any more right.

Of course, but once again the difference is there is no tangible effect here, where as if you stole something else in another way there would be an effect other than the vague potential of a company losing money.
