Yay! Thanks to Spirit's kindness I now have Castlevania Rebirth and like dvader says this game is FANTASTIC! The music isn't quite as good as other games and I don't like that picking up a different sub-item completely replaces the previous one the rest of the game is great. There looks to be a number of secret areas and alternate paths that increase replayability. Another great addition to the "Rebirth" games and a very good game for $10.

Length man, length.

Contra rebirth was too short. Let me know.

And why aren't you guys getting this instead?

I don't know how long it is, haven't beaten it yet. Action games like this have always typically been on the short side and considering there's no save feature for the game I would imagine the same for this one as well. I found Contra Rebirth to be ok for length, I mean these are only $10 games after all. I'm not really all that interested in Lost Winds or at least I have waaaaaay more other games I'm more interested in putting that money towards instead.

I'd like to try it. If only there was demo. Sad

Nintendo said that their trail for the demo program would end sometime in January and then they'd evaluate the results.  From what I can tell it was extremely successful.  All the games demo'ed made it back into the top 20 downloads for at least two weeks except for poor NyxQuest.

So now that it's a proven success it would only make sense to open up a wider demo program.  We can only hope anyway.  Nintendo doesn't necessarily follow common sense when it comes to online programs.

I heard that by mid-jan the demos would be removed, so grab them now.

Damnit it's the best game on WiiWare along with World of Goo. It's a platformer with gorgeous presentation. Hell, it's better than NSMB Nyaa

No Rabbids for me as of now, my kids stole the disc and took it away to my inlaws' home.

But! I have plenty of Assassin's Creed 2 impressions:

The game keeps delivering, new areas are available to explore, as well as a glimpse of the countryside inbetween them. A machiavellian plot is quickly unfolding with Ezio in the middle of it, and Ubi Montreal gets to show their sense of humor. MINOR SPOILER INVOLVING A CHARACTER TO BE INTRODUCED Love the way Ezio's uncle introduces himself: "Ezio! It's-a-me! Mario!".

I have just arrived to Villa Auditore, and from there I'm conducting my first efforts towards the punishment of my enemies. The side missions, even though forgettable so far, are welcome in their variety. You can pick courier missions, beat-someone-up ones, races (yes, races), stealing missions, and those are just the few I have unlocked so far. There is plenty of hidden stuff to find, most of which offers actual in-game rewards with stuff or information, like the Codex pages, the feathers or the weird symbols.

I...dunno, lol. Haven't played a SC game like...ever. Nyaa In order to go unnoticed by soldiers, you rely on two things:

  • Crowd interaction: You can get inside any group walking down the street (not just monks like in the first game), and that will grant you anonimity, as long as you stick with the group. You can also hire groups of people to go wherever you want while keeping yourself out of vigilant eyes, such groups include mercenaries (which help should a fight come up), prostitutes (who distract enemy soldiers and take them away, giggity giggity), thieves and the such.
  • Notoriousness: Should you kill a soldier, steal something and get caught, or do something out of the ordinary, your notoriety will increase (zero equals to anonymous), prompting the guards that encounter you to further investigate and eventually try to kick yoour ass or worse. If you want your notoriety meter to go down, you can either rip off wanted posters with your mug in them, or bribe heralds to make them talk about something else.

You've played everything I'd reccomend for the systems you own. How about grabbing some old GC games (if they have them).

I'm buying it.  That is, that Intel wants Nintendo to use the new Larrabee chips and is pressing them -- I think that's almost a given.  The doubtful part is Nintendo going along with it

^Sorry. Wrong story. I agree with you I think Nintendo will stay with IBM and ATI.  They have appeared in the past to be hands-off on the actual tech of their consoles, and I see them sticking with what they've done in the past.

The other story from today was about Sony.  That one I don't buy.

No save feature? That sucks. I wonder how long the game is then.

Looks like it has 6 or 7 levels. About 12 minutes each. You will die a lot of course. I think it would have taken me 2 hours to finish. Now I have to start over but it should go faster up to the point I left at.

What happens when you ask your grandfather for Modern Warfare, but you aren't specific enough?

159005_mw.jpg

You end up with this DVD, which happens to be a collection of war documentaries. Not quite the game you were hoping to get, but maybe you'll learn a thing or two!

You can hide in stacks of hay, small wooden...things, among people, inside open buildings, or sit on a bench, but that only works if the soldiers didn't see you hiding there. If they see you, they'll snoop around and stick their blades in the hay until you come out.

:lol. No. If you kill someone and want to attract attention elsewhere, you can carry the body and drop it wherever you want a big ruckus. If guards are on your tail, you can toss some coins to the floor so people will flock towards the money, stalling your pursuers.

That site's showing up again.  It's a webs.com site.  Somehow I doubt this guy's got an inside line.

Meanwhile, there's no chance they're using the POWER7.  That's PowerPC architecture -- when has Sony ever used that?  I talk about it a bit on the latest podcast (not yet posted) but the story that "Sony moving away from Cell" is FUD -- the details sounded just like an upcoming revision, not just scrapping the whole thing.
