Still playing a lot of Punch Out in preparation for the Wii version this week. I also picked up the New Play Control version of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. Excellent game. Just a good old school platformer. The combo system is a nice feature to keep it fresh though. So far I've only conquored the first two kingdoms because I keep going back to replay those levels trying to get more and more bananas to unlock the crests. Well worth the $30 I dropped.
Also if you weren't aware Nintendo is doing something pretty cool with their New Play Control games. Apparently the game jackets are reversable. On the outside they're the blue frame box art to distinguish which version they are, but you can take it out, flip it over and get original box art to make it look less tacky.
That sounds cool. I was hoping Punchout would be released today, though the date says the 18th. Nintendo likes releasing games on Sundays and I was hoping this was no exception.
I mentioned this in one of the other Punch Out threads in the Gaming Forum. I went there awaiting my copy and the manager looked at me like I was a moron. He said that Nintendo only releases their "big games" on Sunday and for some reason Punch Out wasn't considered that big I guess.
Oh well, only 2 more days. Jungle Beat will keep me occupied till then.
I've played . . . nothing. Haven't been in the mood this weekend.
Instead, I watched a few DVDs:
The Day the Earth Stood Still was pretty good, but felt a bit lackluster somehow. I never saw the original, so I can't compare them.
Quantum of Solace was like a bad joke. It in no way felt like a James Bond movie, and the story--what little there actually was--was pure crap. All the movie had going for it was the action, and even that wasn't much fun to watch. Just all around bad.![Sad](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-frown.gif)
I just finished watching Bolt. This was a very good and enjoyable movie. Easily the best movie I've seen in a long while. The hamster, Rhino, is teh awesome!![Grinning](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-sealed.gif)
Wow, that's pretty cool. I'm surprised they bothered to do that.
It's a real nice touch. It would be nice to see this turn into a trend for all Greatest Hits/Platinum/Players Choice games. Go ahead and stick the special label on it so it's noticed, but then let the gamers flip it over so it looks nice on a shelf.
I didn't really care for Bolt, but I admit Rhino was a freakin riot. Tiny animals with delusions of grandeur is always a recipe for success, but Rhino even surpassed the usual standard.
For those still not in the know, Nintendo Power announced that Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom will be coming to the US (and probably Europe as well).

Since it was announced over the weekend, some people may have missed it so since this is news of the utmost importance I felt it was necessary to share it again.
Maybe we're all questionable?
it's only below our avatars if somebody posts after us, otherwise it's above.
Been getting back into LBP. The Metropolis is really cool so far. Driving ftw!
Anyway Nintendo Power Tatsunoko vs Capcom scans:

i played a bit of animal crossing. pretty unremarkable week except a few very funny moments there
bit more of punch-out (NES) on the VC
bought swords and soldiers yesterday but i haven't played it yet. also been buying some ps3 games i spotted on the cheap so i have a small collection of games ready to play when i get the console (i'm stupid that way)
question for the God of Trendy: does jungle beat NPC let you play it shaking the nunchuck and remote as though you were banging on the bongo controller or does it control like a standard 2D platformer now? because that was quite enjoyable and i would get it (since my gc copy and bongos got stolen)

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Things should be back to normal this week so I can grace you all with my ramblings again! Lucks for you!
I've been playing Monster Hunter Freedom 2 on my PSP still, man it's addictive! Thinking of going back to COD:WAW this week too, more online stuff to hone in on my FPS skills for the Conduit's release! 25 days to go!
So how's everyone been? Feels like forever since I was last here properly!
Oh Bugs, when you play swords and soldiers, could you let me know if it's any good?
Is it your first playthrough? I dug that game.
I have to get that one. Didn't te Dark Mirror devs do that game? I found that one to be too tricky (hard I guess) in terms of aiming.
Hey Kaep.
Super Rhino clip was awesome too.
They should make an entire movie around him.
