Overlord Dark Legend NOM preview"The game is hugely entertaining and the controls are satisfying without being too confusing"officialnintendomagazine.co.uk gamingeek
" This is a Wii exclusive game. Developed from the ground up. "
Looks like the Wii is working on their own God of War.
You know I'm all up for this. Sony and MS have been taking a lot of Nintendo's good ideas for years. By all means Nintendo shouldn't be above "borrowing" the good ideas of their competitors.
Of course, who knows. This could just be some barbarian/gladiator puzzle game.

It's probably someone crappy making it. Ground up doesn't mean good.
I was just looking at the cancelled Factor 5 project. It looked pretty good, the shaders were impressive and the rendering.
Vancouver-based United Front Games has announced that it is working on an action game set in Hong Kong for Activision.
There are no other details on the game, although the studio's website says it's an officially licensed developer for PS3 and Xbox 360.
General manager Stefan Wessels bigged up his staff's backgrounds at the likes of EA, Radical, Black Box and Rockstar in the press release.
"We have assembled industry talent from around the world, who have worked in senior positions on renowned titles such as the Need for Speed series, SKATE, Bully, Scarface, Godfather, Hulk, spore and the NHL Sports franchise," he said.
The developer is currently hiring for various positions including a multiplayer programmer.
We've contacted Activision to see if it will say anything else on the subject.
Hmmmmm, after Stranglehold I am dubious as a HKfilm fan.
Yeah the art and setting really hurt this title. But all the previews keep saying that yes, it's actually good.
EDIT:
Sooooooo Splinter Cell Conviction. Set in space confirmage
What a useless video!
This is interesting from the Overlord DL interview:
Eurogamer: A lot of people - developers included - still treat the Wii as "my other console". Isn't that a bit of a worry when you're making a version of a core or a hardcore game that's also coming out on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360? Isn't your target audience already sizing up Overlord II?
Dean Scott: We expect Overlord II to sell more than Overlord: Dark Legend, that's true. But that's not a reason to not try. I think Nintendo's hardcore base have been sold a little bit short on the Wii so far. These are people that are loyal, and know good games. Those are the people we want to get behind Dark Legend initially. We've made an entirely original Overlord game for Wii, not just ported the old 360 game. Good Wii games are built around the controller from the start, you can't just retrofit that into a game that already exists and expect to succeed. And that's what we've done: direct pointer interaction with objects, send minion there, break that, attack that. Full FPS-style aiming with the magic attacks, a touch of FPS-style camera control... it's Overlord, but the playing experience is very different.
Who knows? We may even convert a few of the PC/PS3/360 gamers to playing Overlord the Wii way. We're giving them every incentive to try, as it's a completely different game on the two platforms.
Beyond that, the minions undoubtedly have crossover appeal. They've got a lot of character, and the game in which they appear does look fantastic considering the hardware it's running on. Graphics aren't the be all and end all of course, but they sure help with that first impression.
I hope they temper their expectations sales wise with this game.
So its a good generic looking game, it happens. It just wont sell that well. It really does have the look as some generic average game that comes out in the summer, its going to need huge advertising and great word of mouth to sell well.

LOL I have to keep reminding myself that the previews are all positive. Recentely the last 3 or 4 previews have all compared it to Perfect Dark or Goldeneye, two of my favourite shooters.
Overlord Dark Legend however is looking great, its being ignored and I dont think it will sell but its the same team making Silent Hill Shattered Memories. They've pushed the engine really hard and made a fun looking game. From the interview it sounds like they've gone all out to make a proper core game on the system, I kinda feel bad that they don't have a big franchise name to push this one.
No one has any ideas of what Kojima's new game is? I think it will be The Wizard of Oz. Come on that image has Dorothy written all over it.
Or a game based on the movie Twister. Only Bill Paxton uses his Aliens line:
"We're in some real fruity shit now man!"

Oh shizzle, the new Indiana Jones whip video.

The graphics on this game are so much better than the screens would have you believe. Okay, Fate of Atlantis plus a fun looking game? It's mine damnit.
i decided a good while ago that i would get the overlord game, barring disastrous reviews upon launch.
it's a good looking game with solid looking gameplay ... i'd take that over any rail shooter any day
the conduit i was more on the fence about ... but i'm leaning more and more towards buying it for the exact same reasons i stated above. proper games on the wii are so hard to come by

Conduit looks Halo-ish
HK game I'm excited about, but holy shit this Conduit really is looking a lot like Halo. Which hell, if they can do the pointer controls correctly, ain't a bad thing.

Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
Yeah new previews, interview and screens up now. I'm done with updates, I have videos to watch. And I have to visit my other online chums.
But WTF, Muscle March?![LOL](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
___
Listen to Wu-Tang and watch Kung-Fu
I don't think that's a surprise. The guy has done like 1 or 2 non Metal Gear games in the past decade.
Metal Gear Muscle March. GOTY.
I'm watching Wanted right now BTW.
Ugh, watch Nightwatch and Daywatch instead folks.
HK game I'm excited about, but holy shit this Conduit really is looking a lot like Halo. Which hell, if they can do the pointer controls correctly, ain't a bad thing.
THREE non-sequels.
