Geoff Keighley has revealed that Nintendo's big surprise at the GDC wasn't The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks...
The prospect of a new Zelda game on the DS has already sent the N-E team into a prolonged collective orgasm, but it looks like we haven't even seen everything Nintendo has to offer yet.

"To answer your Qs, no Zelda is not the big surprise. That comes later today."
Both that, the Wii update, all the Final Fantasy titles and Nintendo's DSiWare and WiiWare plans was big news to us. What else could Nintendo possibly have planned?
Ughh Vader your idea of directionless Zelda game you posted at Neogat is lame.
No you are lame.
Stalker!
So I take it you didn't like the original either.
Not played it enough to form a judgement, but your idea would not work. Think abbout it, randomly burning bushed, especially in 3D would be very tedious. The game has to have a direction. I need to know where to go. I want to know where to go exactly. Of course the game should allow for the player to take different directions if he so choose.
A good example of this is Zero Missions, the Chozo statues tell you exactly where you have to go. But that does not mean you have to follow them, you can take tons of alternative routes and even take down the bosses in a different order. That is how Zelda should be!
Right, thats better I was just giving a basic example, I am aware that burning every bush would be boring but I would like some randomness to the world. I dont need every secret to be spelled out to me, like how every single bombable wall has a crack on it so you know its bombable. Why not have hidden ones. Later on in the game maybe you find an item that makes finding these hidden ones easier, but dont make it so obvious from the start. Some direction is nice, you should get a hint on how to get to the next dungeon, but a general hint like, its to the island in the south, once there you have to explore to figure out how to access the dungeon. It doesn't have to be as random as an old NES game, but i want it to maintain that spirit of true exploration, of not feeling that you are being hand held the whole way through.

I said this not too long ago. Anyway I'll just say it
I'm pretty mixed about the Nintendo conference myself. It's pretty mundane stuff but it could be good perhaps. Support for 32 GB cards sounds very nice but could be better if this brings in downloadable game demos and quality videos. Arcade support on VC sounds great but it all depends on what games come out for it. The games that launched with it now are lame. I want kickass 2D games from the '90s. A new DS Zelda is well I don't know it's just not terribly exciting for me. I did enjoy PH when I played it but overall it just just didn't leave me with that same sense of grandness that the traditional console versions do. All in all it was the kind of news that made me say, "Well that's nice." but nothing that made me go "Wow!".

I love hints, like when they say go South, then I go North. Did the same in Prime 3, I was supposed to go to Bryyo, I said fuck it and went immediately to Elysia. Tried the same in TP, but you could not really do it. They can even give you the exact location, as long as the game allows you to go somewhere else.

Oh yeah I'm with you. These are the right steps and they are very welcome but they are like baby steps. It's really great that storage is no longer a problem though. The good thing is that now with 32gb they can actually consider demos. I dont really see the point of high quality video when its streaming from the Wii myself. I dont need high quality video of trailers and game stuff. I use PC for that and I never even save it anyway.
Arcade games is great news though, its not what is released right now, it's what could come in the future. Like when the VC was first announced. Every week you could see a great game you used to love appear like VC mondays.
But also, remember that this is no "conference" it's a game developers speech like any other except Nintendo has started using them to slip out small things, like Phantom Hourglass originally or the Wii Virtual console a few years ago. E3 will still be where the big stuff is. Except there is suppossed to be something big today to come...
Umm. I think in my excitement I might have cloned a news story or three. That's why I shouldn't be allowed to update. When you find a double post, think of it as a chance to reinforce knowledge given by the first one.
No, it a code word for: Steel you have done the GDC thread, now do the updates you lazy cunt!
DROP THE MOTHERFUCKING BOMB!

Oh great. . . my name is now going to be forever linked to Rock N Roll Climber. Fuck you whoever did the update. The game is destined to suck now.
Wii Fuck!
That would be me.
I reckon its GTA Wii.

You could have minigames where you would have to masturbate over innocent bystanders. Motion plus enabled FTW and for increased pleasure.

Not shitting you, but in Chinatown wars you can search dumpsters for dildos.
What 79 news enties by 4 posters (Iga, GG, Steel and Punk) today?
While yesterday 107 by one poster (Iga)
So in conclusion Iga > GG + Punk + Steel + Iga
Going to read it now!
