I wanted them to show Kid Icarus. Like you I never played Punchout, so I don't understand the excitement. Though it does make me smile watching little mac take on and beat all these giants.
I think these games, Wii Music/Fit/Sport are new concepts and new franchises and need pushing more than other titles. They are also games which the mainstream media will lock onto for either it's simplicity/health benefits/innovative nature.
I just finished some more updates, Wii speak will allow you to talk wii to wii and it uses your mii with lip synching and you can leave audio messages to each other. All from the Wii speak channel.
The new Wii Speakâ„¢ Channel arrives on Nov. 16 and uses the Wii Speakâ„¢, a microphone that sits on top of your television. This accessory is sold separately at an MSRP of $29.99. People who buy the microphone are given a code that allows them to download the Wii Speak Channel from the Wii Shop Channel at no charge. The Wii Speak lets people in up to four locations who have traded Friend Codes chat with one another at no extra cost. When you use Wii Speak in real time, your Miiâ„¢ appears on your TV screen and mimics your chat. You also can leave audio messages for your friends and family members or use Wii Speak to narrate captions for your photos.
I don't see it as a new DS. It's about as new as the PSP Slim or PSP 3000. The DSi doesn't excite me in the slightest, but then it's not aimed at people who already own a Lite. For new owners, sure a Camera is always handy, a couple of mm extra screen size, okay. The SD card functionality could enable some cool stuff, PSP already has memory stick stuff. I think they really could do an SD card solution for existing Lite users.
Is no one else seeing this?

From our time with the game, we quickly discovered that Call of Duty: World at War definitely looks good on Wii. Players will immediately notice lots of geometry on screen, as a plethora of tree trunks twist into murky swamplands. Grass stands out from the dusty fields, smoke billows in the background from mortar fire and the flame thrower crackles and ignites a surprising amount of environmental objects. Granted, the game doesn't quite keep up with the other platforms, but using a modified version of the Call of Duty 4 engine on Wii, this is no slouch. If that's not enough, Treyarch plans to deliver a game that runs at a smooth 30 frames per second.
The controls, however, are the key ingredient to delivering a worthy FPS on Wii. Players will use the IR functionality to aim their reticule, with the analog stick directing movement. A allows players to sprint and Z to aim, as Wii remote motions are kept to a minimum. In our time with an unfinished build, this control setup felt solid and responsive, but the IR sensoring seemed to lack a bit of fluidity. Treyarch has included a laundry list of options to tweak the pointer, even while gazing down your sights. However, the customizations are preset in small, medium and large fashion. You cannot tweak sensitivity as specifically as you could in Medal of Honor Heroes 2. Thus, we hope that more time will unveil sweet spots for each player within Call of Duty: World at War, even if the options are preset.
There is just something really cheesy about a billionare standing on a pedestal to show off a tiny piece of plastic. With a suit on. And 2 mics in his face.
How exactly did they mistake that for the 360 version? I hate when journalists exaggerate. Again, doesn't look as good as many Gamecube/Xbox 180 games.
Must look better in motion. The E3 trailer looked pretty good to me. The two hands on previews we've seen so far says it looks good and Activision are hyping the technology.
Look at these screens for instance:
Looks pretty good in relation to COD3 or MOHH2. I would like to see some direct feed footage personally. COD3 had some great controls if it weren't for a bug that KILLED the game and made me sell it. This game is looking good. Apart from online co-up the wii version has every feature of the PS3/360 versions, graphically it looks good and the controls are a big plus for me. I thought it would be shit, but I have to say that they have approached it in the right manner and it could be a game I would enjoy.
But it prints money.
Just watched the Wii games montage. Punchout and Another code look great. As does Endless Ocean 2. This is some sweet stuff. The Sin and Punishment 2 trailer is cool too, if that uses IR, I am in.
Things are looking up. Fragile is a top class effort, a mothership Tales title is coming, MH3 and Tatsukono vs. Fatal Frame and Tenchu IV. Conduit, COD5 looks good. De Blob turned out great, Madworld looks good.
I'm fairly happy.
Klonoa Wii game looks nice. I've never played any of those games before. Are they any good?
DSi sounds like it has some cool features, but I'm not sure I care about most of them. Larger screen, but at the cost of battery life, meh. Camera is useless to me; I already have a digital camera, and it's way better than theirs. However, the whole SD card/DS Ware concept could be really cool. I don't see any reason why that feature couldn't be added to the DS Lite through the GBA slot, thougth. Hopefully, Nintendo will release something like that next year too. I also hope they have GB and GBA games availiable for purchase/download off the the DS Store; that would be super cool!
I still haven't bought Sin & Punishment on VC, but after seeing the sequel, I'm going to right after I finish Bioshock.
I do think that COD5 Wii looks pretty good in those screens, but I'm also certain it'll look a ton better in motion.
I'm sure Endless Ocean 2 will be cool, but I don't know if I'll buy it (don't hate me, GG). I'm perfectly happy with the original, and really don't have a need for a sequel. I may change my mind later, though.
Punch-out looks great! Can't wait to try it out.
Finally, Club Nintendo for the U.S.! I want my official SNES Classic controller NOW please! I also want that Mario Galaxy soundtrack too!
My biggest disappointment is that Pilotwings Wii wasn't announced. *cry* But I'm still holding out hope for next year. Wii Motion Plus just seems perfect for that game series.
All-in-all, a great conference from Nintendo.
Silence disbelievers. Iwate = Fedor, that would explain is emotionless cyborg face!
Ahh the story about Marumasa is japanese folklore that I found when researching Masamune. The games has the same theme of a evil sword driving you to kill. So the name is fitting! About the other games, you will have to ask Punk, he is the Vanillaware expert.
Mario and Luigi SSS is perhaps my favorite RPG game ever. I like the fact that you can avoid all enemy attacks, I like the crazy animals, the speach of the brothers, the level design, the koopaling, the story is crazy, the way Luigi dresses up as Peach, Surfing, the University, the battle systems and the crazy attacks, animations (the way you revive your fallen brother is awesome) and Fawfull.
I will say it right now Fawfull >>>>>> Sephiroth + Kefka + Emo guy #112
Well GG acording to a news article you posted yourself.
* Sin & Punishment 2: The announcement of a sequel to one of the most popular Japanese import titles ever is a dream come true for avid Nintendo fans. This new sequel blends intuitive Wii Remote pointing controls with the shooting and sword-swinging game play that made the original an instant classic and fan favorite.
I can only imagine what it will be like next press event.

"In the newest issue of GamesTM Magazine they have a huge cover story on RE5 and they describe the Capcom nicknamed "Gears" controls (actually called D-type controls in the game). They say you can move and strafe with the left stick and aim with the right much like any FPS. LT will ready the weapon and RT will fire. While firing you CANNOT move, they said they needed to preserve that feeling of vulnerability that is essential to this game.
I am happy with that, I believe being able to run and shoot destroys what worked in RE4. The new moves are welcome.
Oh and the issue also states that many BOWs from old RE games will return. "

It's fine to not target Lite owners, just as the GBA Micro didn't target SP owners. But that the DSi supports a game download solution DS owners have long wanted whereas there appears no solution for current owners is my issue.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileSeriously "The Witcher" is really shaping up. Unlike games like "Oblivion" or "Planescape Torment" you actually know what to do before hand. It basically mixes Chrono Trigger and traditional WRPG gameplay and creates something mezmerizing.

SSS was a brilliant game. PiP wasn't as good, but still a fine game none the less.
Oh Iga, I HAVE FURY.
No Finkrat, SSS is a brilliant game. Homer you seem to have played lots of DS games, you should write impression or reviews about it.
If I had a whale fetish I'd be fapping away!
It'll be interesting to see how they can improve on EO, I'd like to see some freshwater stuff, and the area of play could be much bigger. And I don't want story missions getting in the way of me just exploring!
I mean, some of it looks good (like the models) but then you see stuff like the grass, and you vomit.
You sonofabitch. I hate you. You wouldn't like new areas to explore? Hidden temples? Underwater volcanoes? A new abyss like that sunken salt lake? How about the great barrier reef? Or treasure hunting with pirates on your ass?
Is Fawful the Mustard of Doom guy? I have fury?
Damnit, now I have to decide between this and House of the Dead Overkill, another game on the Wii list. Things definetely are looking up.
What I realised is that those games, apart from Punch out (and it's still not clear who's making it) most of those games are by either third parties or partnering with nintendo. Which still leaves us with this gap of nintendo first party.
We know of:
But what about the zelda team, galaxy team, retro, intelligent systems etc? Next E3 is going to be very interesting indeed. And if the third parties pick things up, for instance Ubisoft are doing Red Steel 2 and an as yet unknowm Tom Clancy game, plus we might actually have a Crystal bearers release. Well things could get good. You never know, Spyborgs might turn out well too.
I think that really, sometime next year they will release a solution for current lite users. Otherwise they are limiting the sales of their own new service. Or there might be a wii solution, this storage fix is coming spring 09 so maybe you download games to wii and transfer them to DS like the PSN-PSP service can.
Freshwater might be interesting because they can expand on the environment and creatures. I thought the map was pretty huge in EO so I'm happy with the size. I liked the story missions, they were fairly seamlessly integrated with the game and it felt like you had a loose purpose moving forward. And you really didn't have to do them anyway if you didn't want to.
Have all the Endless Ocean Owners so far unlocked:
