Fooling around with Galaxy and playing Brawl. Unlocked a few trophies and played some multiplayer! Only once was the lag bad, the rest of the time it was tolerable!
I have tomarrow off from both work and school due to a holiday (Labor Day). Yay!
Yesterday, I took my Wii over to my mom's house at my sister's request to play Mario Kart. Funny thing was, my mom ended up hogging the console for most of the afternoon! She was having so much fun, that we just let her go wild with it.
Now, my mom is 55 years old, and to date the only video game she's ever shown any interest in playing was Wii Sports Bowling. However, when I showed her the Wii steering wheel, she quickly jumped up and said that she wanted to play.
Grasping the wheel with both hands, she immediately grew excited as she drove around the Moo Moo Meadows course, giggling when she rear-ended a poor cow, and laughing with evil intent when she purposely rammed into competitor's karts. Within a couple hours, she'd finished the first 50cc Circuit, and with 2nd place to boot! Not bad for a first-time Mario Kart player. She ended up playing Mario Kart for about three hours yesterday, and it's the most fun I'd seen her have in years.
I've been Brawling. I'm getting pretty good with Ganondorf, who seems to be the character most people think is garbage (he definitely wasn't in Melee!). He can be a very effective character, especially if you turn tap-jump on and use that and Cdown to do a lagless stomp, which I tried, for the first time, today. I got beaten by my friend's Metaknight a couple nights ago, though. But hell, it was Metaknight! Everyone loses to him and Snake! I am now improving my G-dorf game based on what I read on Smash World Forums--the place where the competitive Smashers go to discuss the game.
I'd really like to play those of you (and other GameSpot members/ex-members) who have the game, but I'm lazy about finding an online solution that will work for me.

Also finally bought a copy of Enter the Dragon. Now just need to pick up copies of the Superman Ultimate Collection Boxset, Aqua Teen Hunger Force & Harvey Birdman Season 3 and I'm set.

My mother locked onto the Wii Play game where you tilt the controller to steer the cows. She laughs like a mad woman, tears virtually streaming down her eyes. Especially when she smashes into a gate.
I've been watching Ponyo on the cliff, the A-Team and Stargate all weekend.

Or rather, it's almost that game. At E3 this year, Nintendo announced a new technology called Wii Motion Plus that will bring true 1:1 motion controls to the system. And, ever open and helpful to its most important third-party supporters (said ironically), the company didn't bother to inform anyone of the technology's existence before revealing it to the world. So Lightsaber Duels won't be offering a truly immersive sword-battling experience. You'll have to wait for the sequel for that! This one is a sort of halfway point.
No Kizuna vids that I know of. The pencil effect is very grainy. But then again, Hotel Dusk has that effect on the characters and it looks great in motion.
This sucks. Been back home for a day and a half. Finally managing to shake off the jet-lag ... I have brand new shrink-wrapped copies of Smash and Mario Kart ... and I have 60 ba*d resit papers to mark after being back at work for one day ... and I have a seminar to go to tomorrow.

Watched the Fragile video. Looks very impressive. I've been getting a good vibe from this game ever since it was revealed. I really think it's going to be a sleeper. I'm also getting a good feel from Kizuna as well.
