Dead Rising vs Hitman 2 video
hitman looks so much better than dead rising.
I saw that on Kotaku. What stories did I repeat?
I forgot about that level in the game. That was an early PS2 game that got ported to cube a year later and it has more NPCs than Dead rising. What a joke.
Guys check out the N+ review I posted.
i really want N+. has it been released yet? hope they have it at chicago airport on friday. i have a good 14-15 hours of flights to get through, let alone the layover in frankfurt. will the battery of my trusted dslite betray me?

Be sure to put the backlight of your DS lite at the lowest level. This should increase your battery life considerably!
great idea, i think i have it at the one just above the lowest at present. i'll make sure to change it to the dimmest before friday. thanks!

"N+ is an instant classic, and if you aren't convinced now, you will be minutes after booting the game up. It's all about where the product puts its priorities. Some titles on DS push the hardware, innovate with the touch screen, or expand the audience with new designs that stretch the definition of what a "game" is. Others, like this little pocket gem, simply strive to master its craft. You run. You jump. You love every second. N+ is a game in the purest sense of the word. Buy it."
I know Bozon sometimes is full of ... but this really makes me want to play this game. It helps that this was a game i was already anticipating. I think between this and bangai-o-spirits i'll be hard pressed to leave my ds for the coming weeks/months despite my buying a bunch of new wii games. i also think i will wait at least until the new team ICO game before considering buying another console.

I think you got Bozon mixed up with Matt
Joking aside Bozon is an ex developer and he worked on Contra 4, so he is a developer that became a critic. So he is all right, but forming your own opinion is always better than listening to a critic, even a good critic.
Bozon worked on contra4? awesome, i totally love that game. he's sometimes over enthusiastic in a matt kind of way in previews etc but he is alright. i didn't mean to diss him.

I learned a long time ago not to trust previews. Sometimes they are too negative, sometimes they are too positive, and most of the time they are a glorified checklist. It is an intersting dilemma. Can you be negative on a game which is not yet finished? Matt said that he would do previews with a checklist at the end with all the negative and positive points, that was not just for the readers, but it would also help the developers. I think that would be a good idea, shame they did not implement it.
Are you guys on crack?
That's not HITMAN 2: Silent Assassin. That's HITMAN 4: Blood Money.
But yeah, still sad that the PS2 version of Blood Money looks better than a "ground up Wii game". Hell, Hitman 2 probably does look better anyway...I loved that game BTW, one of my favorite games of last gen. Have the Gamecube version, awesome with the Cube controller....sadly the only Hitman they made for Cube.
Capcom should be embarassed at how bad Dead Rising looks. First, they try to brag about it in that trailer where they cpmpare RE4 and Dead Rising. Okay....you're comparing a Gamecube game to a Wii game, for one. Second, it doesn't look anywhere near as good as said Gamecube game, or offer anywhere near as great of gameplay. Thirdly, fuck you.
I'm sorry Dead Rising looks like shit. Its blurry and bland, and just making a big deal about that game while stuff like Metroid Corruption and Mario Galaxy have long been released while stuff like Conduit is around the corner show me the true colors of Capcom's Wii commitment.
Really, Dead Rising didn't look too hot for a 360 game either though. As I said before, it got a free ride because at the time 360 didn't have shit. Its one of those early gen games where they try to trick you into thinking its better than it really is by throwing 10 million dudes on screen at once. Only the 360's HD resolutions make it look as decent as it does.
Wii first system to 1 million sales in Canada: Wow...Canada doesn't buy many consoles, does it?
Nintendo never neglected hardcore games: Well, you could have fooled just about everybody by what you show and the way you talk at most modern games events.
Too Human didn't take 10 years to make: Give me a fucking break Dyack. Since leaving Nintendo you've really become an annoying person man....and I used to like you. No, the Too Human that got released on 360 wasn't in development for 10 years obviously, but the IDEA for a Too Human game was indeed more than 10 years old. Hell, I had the old issue of EGM where they went HANDS ON with the PLAYSTATION 1 version of the game....calling it a cyber mix of Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy 8.
Oh I mistook it for the embassy room in Silent assasin which had a bunch of NPCs too. For some reason my laptop showed the video as a slideshow.
I remember when I first played dead rising, I thought it looked like a high resolution PS2 game with tons of zombies. Without the HD it just looks like a PS2 game. Only with 10 zombies.
Their whole approach to this game is wrong IMO. The reasoning behind it was that RE4 port sold well so let's port another for minimal effort and cash in. Of course that's not the official company line, the line being: This is ground up game blah blah.
If they wanted to they should have just done a new dead rising game on wii and made it different rather than just porting this shit over. I keep saying it again and again, but if you look at what Psi ops did last gen and see what Elebits did on Wii you should be seeing this in virtually all FPS or 3rd person wii games. Force unleashed and Harry potter 5 omitting IR and physics based gameplay is raw stupidness.
It's like no developer has even heard or played Elebits and seen what it's technologically doing.
That's what annoys me so much, a launch game with an obvious mechanic that can yield so much potential is being completely ignored. Only Boom Blox uses similar mechanics. It can be incorporated into so many regular hardcore games though and not just puzzle games. Psi Ops is blatant proof of concept too.
Hands on? Really? Eternal darkness was an N64 game too.
GG you are right I am still waiting for a Second Sight sequel. Come on Free Radical make it now!
Yeah I remember it looking very MGS-ish, just not as good. And it was supposed to incorporate a lot of FF style RPG leveling and item management.

I never played Elebits, hahahahahaaaaaa. Still, the Wii version of Force Unleashed would probably be the one I'd go for if it was well done, because of the sloppy controls in the other versions and the fact that it doesn't really use the other machines in any meaningful way.
That's a great idea. But basically virtually any game can use the physics manipulation of Elebits. You have a controller that gives you acceleration info, positional info, allows you to rotate or throw objects with your own heft, has you using actual depth to pull and push things into and out of the screen. It gives you an absurd amount of control when coupled with a physics engine.
Take that mechanic, give your character in some action game some superpower and have him throw shit around. In a Resident evil game you could pick up crates and hurl them at zombies. Or pluck off a zombies head.
In Force unleashed you could ping pong storm troopers off eachother or solve environmental puzzles. In a first person game you could investigate a scene by picking apart its components.
Just a note, if you give a shit about capcom it's Ask board is great:

LMAO......riiight.
They should port it to DS.
