This is true, awesome, and the best thing the Sil has going in it. Gothmog, king of the Balrogs, and Ancalagon the Black. Legendary stuff within a legend. But it lacks pace. Perhaps because it wasn't really written as a whole, but in pieces instead.

Elves facing off with Balrogs mano a mano. It tells the story of how the humans ignored the gods and were corrupted by sauron and how they left the island when it was broken. It tells you where the elves are going, how they are immortal etc. The history of the white tree. It's just a totally kickass, know everything background to LOTR.

Before you read it you actually don't just understand how little you understand about the LOTR universe. It even tells you what the seeing stones are and how they were formed, how dwarves came to be etc. Exactly what were those white water horses in LOTR at the river. The history of the name Glorfindel. It goes on and on.

My favourite tale was that of turgon and the fall of the hidden city. Did you read unfinished tales and the children of hurin standalone book?

So everybody's leaving to go back to either lame work or lame school. What will become of us? Will Insert Coin become some kind of quasi-purgatory, where a small few of us dwell alone?

So what did everyone play at the weekend?

I played multiplayer Boom Blox. This game is really fun, especially in multiplayer. Because it's physics based, everytime you play, even if you repeat the same mission, it's different each time. It has this scoring aspect but also the sort of killer blow move where you can win with one amazing shot.

It also has that jenga aspect where you can dare yourself to take away a support and screw your opponent for their term. And the level creator is the best.
