Yeah I know how the timers work GG but I dont want to have to ask what triggers it. Plus a to. Of the missions happen naturally as you fight enemies. I make sure I talk to all npcs before heading out into the world.

You don't have to ask what triggers it if you are a little more specific in your impressions as to where you are and at what point you are in the story.

What I did for instance was rush through the Bionis leg quests thinking I had to beat them all. I wasted a lot of time and bored myself when I could and should have been getting on with the more exciting main quest and then coming back to mop up the other stuff later.

But........ his voice acting. I want Riki dead.

People that still have Sharla is their team should not throw stones.

I am past that, no need for purge.

It is not a problem I caused myself, the game is giving me a million side quests and asking me to explore but i am not supposed to do it. I talk about it in my podcast. Its the games fault, horrible difficultty balance.

No it is how the game is set up. You have the option of doing sidequests. They are all optional, or you can just ignore them and do the quest.

The game is made so that if you do the sidequest, you will not have to fight to level up. Or you could just fight your way through and ignore all sidequests if you want.

I like it because it allow me to play however I want. If I want to move the story allong I can do that, if I want to fool around and explore that is also possible. Making the game so hard that you will need to do all the sidequests would make it impossible for the ones that are not interested in doing it. There are however unique monsters that will remain a challenge and you can increase the challenge by attacking monsters that are 10 levels above you. Heck there is a video of a team of naked people taking down a level 99 monsters at level 40. Naked!

The only way they could balance this is, if they had some level scaling, but that is horrible. There is a mod that decreases the ammount of xp you get from sidequest though. If you use that you might enjoy it more.

Scaling for all monsters sucks but if they scaled the main quest bosses to an extent. What you described about doing the main quests or side quests happens in a million games, I have nit played many games where doing the side quests unbalances the main quest so much. Xenoblade is not doing anything new in that regard, they just didnt manage the exp properly.

Sharia does suck, no need for her at all. So Iga what is your primary team?

I assume when I reach the point where I can battle the super monsters customizing your squad will be key.

Yep and there are multiple ways in doing that.

My main team is Melia, Shulk, Dunban

But I will try to get Riki (who is awesome) and the 7th in my team, the next time I play it.

Yes and they are wRPG that gives you to choice of avoiding all battles if you want to. And it is praised for that. So not sure why Xenoblade would be different. Also Zelda and Metroid have the same problem, the more you explore the stronger you get, the easier the game becomes. Zelda Skyward Sword solved that with the game+ which was much harder. Too bad Xenoblade the game+ makes the game even easier. Try fighting the bosses when you are level 99.

I sorta forgot this game was made by many of the same people who did XenoGears... (Don't ask me how I forgot that.)

...but their influence is apparent!

Between Giant, Mech-Like Beings, and people being used for nutrients... duh! What took me so long to see the similarities?!

When I am not sleep walking my way through the combat in main quest the game is enjoyable, the story has been excellent. So much just happened, it is hard to digest it all. Seriously... WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON. There is some triple backstabbing going on or something.

As usual nothing is hard. Ok I had one hard fight and that is because I decided to fight like 10 guys at once. I beat the major boss at this part with no problem, we were equal in level. I miss exploring and doing side quests, that is the best part of the game. But noooooo I cant do that or the game is broken.

Vader what the fuck are you doing?

If you want to explore, explore. The game will eventually catch up with you. Just ignore fighting normal enemies, unless it is for a quest. If you outlevel them they will not give you much exp. You will get your challenge by going back and attacking monsters and uniques that outlevel you.

When I say explore i mean exploring to complete side quests, there is no point to walk around with no quests. But if I do that there is zero challenge in the main quest. This game is completely horribly unbalanced. I can beat every boss without trying.

Who cares about the bosses. The uniques are the for you. Just make sure you never exceed level 80 and you will be fine with the main quest. Where are you now?

YES! I cant take this linear moving forward thing, I feel like I am playing FFXIII. Time to do some side questing, there has to be some good monsters to fight now.
