I bought a 2T harddrive. Will get it Monday. Will probably download the game.
My copy didn't arrive today either. Downloading data packs now, avoiding the skell pack till later.

I'm in the middle of an Affinity Quest.
Man this game's world looks gorgeous. Excellent design. I picked Prospectors as well for the defense. I just finished story mission 3 and things have really started to open up now. The game can be a bit daunting especially for newcomers because there's a lot of stuff to get into just like the first Xenoblade game. Some good music and some that seems a bit odd for this game. One that seemed like a bad choice was for whatever reason they decided to play this dramatic song with vocals while they were trying to explain some stuff. It was kind of hard to hear the explanation. This happened just after story mission 3. Another gripe that I have is that some text in the game is very small and can be difficult to read. Still the game so far is excellent.
Yeah the text is super small...I thought it was just me with my crappy eyesight.
I love how the game starts...very cinematic. These are the types of games I love to see on Nintendo consoles but unfortunately they're few and far between. Those games with cinematic flair like this, Metroid Prime, Eternal Darkness etc. If Nintendo could just get 2 or 3 games like those every year it would make a big difference.
The game seems like a really solid continuation of what they began in the last one, with added influence from the older Xeno games. It also has similar graphical issues in that the art aspect is top notch...I mean not many games can match this artistically. But technically speaking, it pretty much looks like a 360 game from 5 or 6 years ago. The controls are fine and feel just like the last one on Wii, other than the touchscreen stuff.
Must play more...I'm super early in.
I've only played an hour or so so far. Still in NLA, about to sign up with Blade. I have made about the worst character for this game. I always try to make someone who looks as if they could at least be a relative of mine, but that left me with 'old man' as my base model. And he does not fit in with a cast of anime rejects.
Spent a lot of time fiddling with the camera controls. The standard controls are soooo sssslooowww. Tried inverting the Y axis, which I usually do, but for this game it just didn't work out. Also nearly died when battling the first roach you meet. I thought targetting required you to hold R, but it just toggles on and off. Also, what's up with auto-running? Ok, it's a big game, but it's a pain when you accidentally trigger it.
We look alike:
save for the fact that I look like a relatively sane human being
The options for character creation are pathetic though. It's more of a 'pick a character' than an actual creation tool. Also don't like how you're stuck with one body type. I would have prefered a less muscular physique.
My copy was dispatched last Wednesday and still hasn't arrived. I am fucked. OFF

Like XB on Wii they have to make sacrifices for size. There are no 360 games that have an environment as large as this with no loading screens.
Actually there are no PS4/XB1 games that have an environment as large as this with no loading screens either. And according to Digital Foundry there are no open world games on 360/PS3 or indeed the new consoles with as consistent a frame rate.

Yeah, I figured there'd be an option to do just that somewhere in the game. I didn't know it, but I knew, you know?
Seriously, wtf is going on?!
