Board invasion!!!

Hi everyone, great to see some old buddies, Supreme, Oilers, Randolph. Anyone know where Minda Cubed, Shelco, Nopalversion are?

I get the distinct impression that Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze was originally being developed for the Wii and then was ported to the Wii U halfway through development. It looks a lot like a Wii game that has had specific effects upgraded a little.

That just occured to me this morning. I thought - Radiant Dawn and Super Paper Mario. Retro has been hiring aggressively and situating to new offices so maybe this is a game to keep them productive while they are working on a second bigger project? They have been hiring Darksiders 2, Naughty Dog staff even a Crytek guy so they cannot be hiring those guys to work on 2D looks-like-wii DKC game.

BTW, do you ye olde guys know how much fun Lego City Undercover is? Type " Lego City review" into our news searchbox, top right. It's definitely a top game for the system.

I could track down Minda Cubed.  cool  Although I don't think he's much of a gamer anymore.  And if he is, he's an Xbox gamer now.  Booo!  And that's Shleco, GG.  Shelco just sounds like some evil oil corporation.

I didn't play Lego City, no.  So far I only own Nintendo Land and ZombiU for my WiiU, and ZombiU is still in cellophane.  I've pretty much been playing only cooperative Borderlands 2 for over half a year on Steam.  What I do enjoy tremendously is the Rayman Challenge app.  It's 100% free and the best fun to be had on the WiiU for the moment.  It's also rather hardcore, as getting medals requires real skill.

edit: what, you read Gamesradar?  Man, that place went to the dogs even before GS did.  And where's Eurogamer?  You can not expect me to take this place seriously if you do not mention Eurogamer.

I have him on my Xbox friends list. I don't think he even knows who I am anymore....we used to talk all the time back on the Gamespot boards geez, like 10 years ago now. I see his name pop up only once in a great while on Xbox, and the last time I tried to talk to him he seemed like he had no clue who I was and didn't wanna chat. LMAO

When I was on Gamespot Minda and myself used to be the Nintendo guys on there most of the time, so we just naturally started friending each other. I used to love his battles with Pedro.

Yeah, for all the talk about alexwatchtower, Minda's as much a GS legend.  I dug up his email adres a while ago and mailed him to see if he'd reply.  He still knew who I was, but didn't seem too interested in gaming anymore, or GS for that matter.  It's odd that so many of us are still actively gaming and talking about it on boards, spread over the www, but of all people, Minda seems to have let go of it all.

Ugh, Watchtower used to annoy the hell out of me with his constant Xbox launch propaganda. haha

What I noticed with Minda was that he kind of disappeared from the boards a few months after the Xbox 360 launched. He used to talk about how excited he was for it, then it came out & he just quietly faded away from the boards. After that, I also started seeing him less & less on Xbox Live. I figured he either got a new girlfriend or just fell on hard times. Because it was weird how he just suddenly was gone.

Alex returned to GS just in time for E3 you know  WinkWink.  And he hasn't changed a bit.  Poor guy was making 1000 word threads, and all anyone would ever say would be 'dude, I'm not reading all of that'  Grinning  Times have changed.  Anyhow these days it's nice to see anyone being passionate about gaming like he is.  I still enjoy multiple page spanning discussions, even if they're few and far between.

Interesting.

Yes back in the day I remember some great debates that would go on for 50 pages. These days, I don't know...maybe its just that I've debated everything I care to debate many times over, but I just have no desire to engage in that anymore. Plus, the industry has changed and its not the same talking about some things now.

I guess that's what I like about this place. People are passionate but also like to take it easy and bust balls in good fun. And its fine to just come in and post a few crazy, random, silly things just for kicks if that's all you feel like doing.

Seriously you need to buy some better games, Lego City followed by NFS U are the best games on the system. And Trine 2, Little inferno. The Rayman app is just too.... cheap. I'm sure the full game will be great though.

I don't read Gamesradar, I read pretty much everything if and when I can and post everything if and when I can.

I was thinking about getting NFS, but I've never been a fan of the series, and really, Borderlands 2 is eating up all my sparse gaming time.  I really didn't like Trine 2.  It's the first DLC I purchased, but it feels so hollow.  The characters are drawn too big, meaning your field of view is too small, the fighting is bland, the levels are bland, and the puzzles are often breakable in so far that I just managed to platform around a couple of them.  It's a beautifull game, but that should not mean that people give it slack for being a bland one as well.  I played and liked little inferno, great game.  The Rayman App is not cheap at all.  It sets you some steep challenges and turns parts of the game into something with a real racing line.  I'm exactly the opposite of you it seems, I think I'm enjoying this much more then I will enjoy the final game.  I never did really like Origins and don't think I'll be getting Legends.  At least not at full price.

and I'm not the one to ask about how anyone is remembered.  I disappeared back in 2007 along with so many others.  In retrospect, it's the dumbest thing we could have done.  Look where we all went.  We got scattered, some were lost...  I still don't know where Shleco went.  And you were a mod once?  Good God, glad I don't seem to have any recollections about that  Grinning

I was never a mod I mean being modded and having to watch what you say.

NFS U is an open world burnout made by criterion. Lego city is the best game on wii U and much better than anyone expected. Like I said, type it into our searchbox. Trine 2, not sure I get this big characters problem you are talking about they are all small for me.  Are you talking about the first Trine?

I might have to look into NFS U again then.  No, I'm talking about Trine 2.  It's not that they're huge, but the amount of level displayed on the screen was too small to be usefull in places.  It's been a long time since I played it, but that's how I remember it.  Didn't finish the game either, it was just such a bore to play through for me.

Edit: oh, and MK8 looks gorgeous, like I said in the other post, it's near CGI quality.  I'll be stumped if they get that running at 1080p60, but on the other hand I fully expect them to pull it off..

It will be 60 FPS, I think they even said 60FPS in two player split screen. Not sure about the resolution though.

Sorry, no time due to an overdosis of playing BL2  WinkWink  It's a great game.  We're playing through the DLC now.  I'm playing both as Axton and Maya, trying to keep them both leveled for online play with my pal once a week.  Currently around level 43, meaning that I have 2 turrets armed with rocket launchers.  I mean seriously, how much more kick-ass can you get?  I like playing as a siren a lot too, but if there's only 2 of you, her elemental powers kind of go to waste.
