I'm talking a singular gaming moment that had the blood pumping so hard it rushed to your brain. A Rocky like moment, like landing that final blow and winning at something.

For me I think it was Viewtiful Joes' Fire Leo boss.

This is a game I bought a Hori gamepad for, the GC needed a SNES like pad. This boss was so tough I was literally chewing on the controller with my teeth leaving marks. I swung the controller around by the wire so hard once it made a dent in the wall. When I beat him it was an almighty fist pump, adrenaline rushing throughout my body "Fuck you!!!!!!!!!!!!!" called out in my head.

Of course once you know what you're doing you can beat him fairly easily even on hard. laugh

Easily the train section in Uncharted 2.  I could not believe I was actually playing a level that gave me the exact same feeling as watching Raiders of the Lost Ark. I remember reading impressions on Gamespot about how amazing it was then my jaw dropping when I actually played it.

The only other one I can remember is Mario Galaxy, purple Luigi coins flip flop level, it was timed and everytime you jumped the platforms flipped. It was hell because the camera wouldn't auto flip midway through. When I did it I jumped out of my chair and swore very loudly.

Usually online, so something as remote as MLB2005 or the early NBA2K's and Halo 2.

Animal Crossing Wild World. Whenever one of those little balloons would show up on the top screen, it was a heart-pounding rush to quickly equip the slingshot, and shoot those bastards down before they floated off screen forever. Happy

Heh? The only thing blood pumping about Mountain Dew is the heart attack you'll get from drinking too much of that shit.

Animal Crossing and heart pumping should never be used in the same sentence.

For me probably some 3D Sonic, trying to get an S rank or high score takes the most insane levels of concentration and perfect gaming. I am sure some battles in DMC and Bayonetta as well.

The game moment that stands out is everything at the end of MGS3, never had a high quite like that one.

Tough call since generally I play a lot of mellow games. Probably when I beat Azure Dreams. I spent 8 years trying to beat that game. I started, quit, and restarted that game a dozen times before I finally beat it. So when I finally did it, it was the biggest "fuck yeah" of all time for me.

Actually on an event day it's hard to beat. When it's Christmas Eve (in real life too) and you've only get a limited time to deliver and collect presents from a Santa Reindeer it can raise your heartrate with pure joy.

After much consideration, I think the Story Mode in F-Zero GX on the hardest setting is the most adrenaline fueled thing I  have ever done.  F-Zero GX is generally considered a hard game, but it is only when you play the 'Grand Prix' mission in the Story Mode that you realize how mellow the rest of the game is, and how brutal it could have been.

It's hard for me to imagine anything other than StarCraft 2 taking top spot here.  There are two instances that I would count for it.

One would be I took a break of about a week where I didn't play any StarCraft (after never having a gap of more than a day for more than a year) when my group of university gaming friends and co-SC2 university team members had a small little friendly LAN hangout and we had a tournament where I went through and won in the finals in a best of 5 in game 5 holding a very tenuous all-in.

Second would be in a Zerg vs Zerg match for the university league where both sides were live and watching, and my ZvZ is unusual and even more razor's edge than the match-up already is and managed to pick up a win.

One outside of SC2 I would give to Dota 2 in my first LAN for that game leading a team through to the finals and pushing the out-of-town semi-pro team to the limit.  Unfortunately the physical setup of the LAN meant their team could hear the casters and we couldn't overcome being demoralized by the unfair advantage already as the underdogs, but we otherwise had a hell of a run.

Outside of eSports, friggin Ouendan 2 and Sekai Wo Sore Yo Ai to Yobundaze hardest level with the indicators turned off.  Though possibly Jumpin Jack Flash was more intense just because I played Elite Beat Agents first.

For reference on StarCraft intensity, here's the same where I was promoted to Master League as Terran

I don't think I even made it past the stage where rocks fall on you. I never really bothered with that mode, did the cups instead.

I never got the impression that the mode had much put into it design wise. Assumed it was gimmicky pointless stuff.

Are we talking the GX story mode here, or gaming in general?  Of course it was gimmicky and pointless, that's the whole point!
