Yesterday Konami announced that they would be throwing some more love towards Nintendo's Virtual Console, VCA, and WiiWare - you can read the half assed written article here:  http://wiiware.nintendolife.com/news/2009/04/konami_vc_arcade_support_and_wiiware_life_force

The problem is, they didn't really distinguish what is being released for which parts (arcade vs. VC).  But it does look like Rush'n'Attack, Gyruss, and Lifeforce will all show up as arcade games, and that's a good thing.  Not only are they better than average games, but it's more support for the VCA and that gives me hope that more companies will start bringing some of their old classics.  Here's my current arcade game wishlist:

Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder

Cadash

Magic Sword

Kid Niki: Radical Ninja (and he was radical)

Donkey Kong (the actual arcade version not the NES version)

Mr. Do

Crystal Castles

Mighty Bomb Jack (again not the broken NES version)

Burger Time

Hell the list could go on much longer, but these were the ones that I remember spending a lot of time with back in the day.  Anyone else have some things they hope to see on the VCA?

The original is not, but Konami does seem to be increasing their support for the VC these days.  When Metal Gear (and hopefully Snake's Revenge) shows up it'll be a pretty big day.

I wholeheartedly concur.

Does the Japanese VC support MSX?

I saw the VC arcade trailer today on Nintendo channel.

Ugh, when they said arcade games I imagined Final Fight, not sub par NES graphics 8 bit games.

Here is my wishlist:

  • Streetfighter 1 and Super Streetfighter 2
  • MERCS
  • Final Fight
  • Captain Commando
  • The Punisher
  • Aliens vs Predator
  • Aliens arcade game
  • Forgotten Worlds
  • Alien Syndrome
  • X-men beat em up
  • Turtles arcade game
  • Simpsons arcade game
  • Some lightgun games! Virtua cop et al
  • Darkstalkers
  • Strider
  • Cadillacs and Dinosaurs

Street Fighter 1??  Are you retarded or just a sadist?  That game was awful.  Let me share a story about Street Fighter with you.  I've shared it a few times back in the Gamespot days so if you've already heard it shut your piehole and let the others enjoy.  But the story is so good that it deserves it's own thread.  So go read the Street Fighter I thread that I'm going to make.

Of course I know Kid Nikki.  Let me tell you I was such a dork that when I was 9 or 10 years old me and my friends had a club called the Kid Nikki Force, despite that fact that I was the only one who had even played the game.
