http://gamersxtreme.org/2012/10/08/puddle-coming-to-the-wii-u-details-and-screenshots-included/

Earlier this year, gamers were able to experience a unique indie title on PSN/XBLA called Puddle, developed by Neko Entertainment. A few months later, Puddle then made its way to the PS Vita and was very well received (read our review), in which I highly recommended those looking for a fresh experience to look into it. Today, Neko Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing Puddle for the Wii U and that the experience has been polished even further.

Puddle will run at full 1080p and 60fps on the Wii U, thanks to “very good performances” that the developer has gotten out of the console. They also took advantage of the TV/Gamepad feature so if you need to stop playing your game on the TV, you can continue seamlessly through the Wii U Gamepad’s screen and still retain a 60fps on there. Controls will be handled in three ways: Accelerometer, ZL-ZR trigger buttons, and Left Stick. Basically, these are the same control setups as the PS Vita edition but it’s great to see them capitalize on the “accelerometer” as that provides for a very natural and intuitive experience. Lastly, Neko Entertainment has examined which particular levels many people used the “Whine and Skip” feature on and made adjustments to ensure no frustration in simply completing those levels. They want to make the player feel that they always have the chance of completing a level but if you aim for the Gold Medals, it’s still going to be a solid and rewarding challenge.

Neko Entertainment has been hard at work in preparing their latest edition of Puddle for the launch of the Wii U and based on the enhancements, it’s certainly sounding like the most polished version yet. Puddle will be downloadable via the Wii U eShop at launch.

This game reminds me of Fluidity on Wiiware.

Funny how these indie PC devs have managed to eeek more perfomance out of the system than traditional console game devs. I know their games are less hardware intensive but still, if they can only do their indie game at 30 FPS, 720p on 360, they've managed to bump things up and take advantage of the system fairly easily compared to console developers used to making games on older tech. I guess because they have to do PC games on ever changing hardware it is easier to adapt. Rather than a console developer taking a bloated code for a different architecture and porting it across. We've had Shinen talk about how the GPU is from a completely new generation and Frozenbyte saying that the Goblin Menance requires considerably more power.

Why are you getting the pro controller? Ass creed 3 is out day 1? You sure about NG3? It could still be crappy, wait for reviews I say.

I have 50 days left till this console is out so I wont be nailing down launch games for a while. Thinking Mario U and Zombi U to start off with, I will sell Nintendoland to white model owners. Maybe pick up Epic Mickey 2 before Christmas.

It says Ass Creed 3 ships November 13th...so that may be the 1st game out. I have a good feeling about NG3 only because Nintendo got involved, but yes if its still crap I will pass. And the pro controller is a possible...seems like it may be a good idea for multi-player stuff.

Nintendo is publishing and Mario Club (in house testing team which gives advice) is involved, but I'm guessing there is only so much they can do.

Yeah that's the only reason I'm interested. Team Ninja knows they fucked up and are working with Nintendo to correct things. Will they succeed? I can only hope. Maybe Capcom will do the same with RE6 on Wii U. cheeky

They will, but it will be released as expensive day 1 DLC.

You got to check this out

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Wii U New York Comicon Trailer

Click the cog for HD.

Looks great. Shame the Wii 1 didn't output HD, just in terms of the same graphics with better aliasing.

Cancelled my pre-order a few days ago.  Nothing to do with Nintendo or the system itself.  Just had to re-assess my life and restate my priorities.  Just seems silly to spend in excess of 600 euros on a new console and a few new games when I hardly have the time, energy or even desire to play the dozens (nay, hundreds) I have piled up.  Especially when I'm being weighed down by a mortgage and I'm in for a whole gammot of recession measures like hefty paycuts and what have you.  I think it will be much better for me if I put whatever little disposable income I have left towards travelling and seeing more of the world, than towards more games (I know it's apples and oranges but they're paid for from the same kitty Sad  WinkWink.  Will cut down on a lot of other things as well like CDs, vinyls, DVDs etc

So, yeah ... no WiiU for me on launch or for the foreseeable future but I will enjoy reading your impressions.

You can better enjoy your travel while you are young and healthy whereas you can game anytime in your life, so good call.  I'm too neurotic to enjoy travel, which is why gaming is a better use of my disposable income.

Yeah I won't be getting a Wii U at launch either, I'll get one several months down the road. I have too many games to play right now not to mention several more to pick up during the next month or two.

Sad to hear. What I would say as someone who would like more travel is that a holiday, even a single holiday costs more than a gaming console. I would get the console and just cut back on the amount of games, just buy a few exclusives that you really need and cut out all the stuff you do not 100% need to play.

Travel is getting really expensive now.

I agree, and it's a consideration but it's still a lot of money.  As you say travel is getting more expensive but I feel it's more valuable and irreplaceable to me as an experience (even if there are those who say that you have nothing to show for it save for snapshots).  To me experiences and memories are priceless.  I'm trying to save enough to travel to the US again next year, and to try and have some spending money etc so I can see a good bit of the country again.  The cost of a U and a game would be more than half my air fare.  And I need to be making a mortgage payment every month.  Once I've booked my tickets and saved enough I'll certainly be getting a U because I do want one, I just can't make it a priority right now.

I feel this way about going out drinking/clubbing, I feel like I have spent money for nothing.
