Hmmmmmm that was a combination of high drama and low comedy. I have long hair and a beard.... Maybe I am Thor.
I just watched The Book of Eli. It was a lot better than I had expected. Waaaaaaaay better than Thor.
"Hunger Games" gorges on $214 million global debut
$214 million in the first three days, and the sequel is due November 2013. Yeah, massive $$$$$.
Yahoo News:"Hunger Games" set records for highest opening of a non-sequel film and biggest debut outside the summer blockbuster season.
"The first movie in a franchise, to post a number like this, is really insane. There is no other word for it," said Phil Contrino, editor of Boxoffice.com.
"'Harry Potter' had seven movies before it got to that point, and 'Dark Knight' had years and years of building the Batman brand. This movie comes and hangs with them in the same league," Contrino said.
"To launch a franchise like this is incredible. It's above and beyond our expectations," David Spitz, executive vice president of domestic distribution for Lions Gate, said on Sunday. "We're just going to enjoy the ride."
Saw Puss in Boots
I liked it, it was pretty fun. Made by the Shrek guys and they know what they are doing. There's something about Antonio Banderas playing as a kitty Zorro that cracks me up. His delivery of lines is comedy gold. There was this simple bit when a tumbleweed stuck to this leg, he shook it off and shouted "BEGONE!" and I couldn't stop laughing. It's similar quality to the Shrek films, maybe the story isn't quite as good as it only concentrates on 3 characters really.
I also saw Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Very good movie albeit very slow.
Great ending, very satisfying.
TTSS is a remake no? Alec Guiness in the original I think. I want to see both.
Last night I watched From Dusk Till Dawn, which I'd seen several times before and is one of my favourite Rodriguez/Tarantino flicks. It was hilarious as my girlfriend who had never seen it before had no idea it was a vampire flick (and I had no idea she had no idea) so half way through the film when Salma Hayek turns into a cobra head blood thirsty beast ... she was like ... What. The. ...? She enjoyed it though.

LOL I like that movie.
TTSS isn't really a remake. There was a TV series and a old old film here in the UK.
It's based on the same novel yes.

I just posted a couple of reviews that said it was decent.

No, its not. Same crap as the first.
robio said:Does anyone else watch Game of Thrones? Season 2 just started a couple nights ago and damn it only gets better. Best drama on TV today. If you haven't watched it check iut the first season (10 one hour episodes). Starts off slow to build the scenario but once it starts going its absolutely gripping.
I recently bought the first season, will finish watching it this week. I wanted to get HBO in my cable package this month because of the new season, but with my ball surgery I had to wait on that. The series is amazing.
I just watched The Big Lebowski a couple nights ago. Had a fucking blast.

I kept cracking up throughout the whole movie. My wife gave me the evil eye because it was pretty late at night and I was wearing headphones.

I prefer the funny Cohen Bros films.

All Coen Bros films are funny (or have a funny side), even if it's on the darker side of the spectrum. Possible exception No Country for Old Men

GG does not percieve dark humour.
Thor is awesome, come on.
