Does Buffy get any better? I mean in terms of pacing, story, action, effects etc? I assume the production matured over time? It was quite successful after all.

Does it ever get darker, or more fraught at all or it high school hijinks most of the time.

I ask because I just watched the episode where some students were possessed with the spirit of hyenas and they then ate the school pig mascot. indecision

Yes it gets better. But the real deal is the Angel spin-off that is just awesome.

Chronologically where does this Angel series start from? i.e was it after buffy or did it start concurrently to a season of buffy?

What's the difference between Angel and Buffy in terms of tone?

Yeah, it gets a lot better, and darker too. The second and third seasons are my favorite.

Why the " Hrm "? The hyenas episode was hilarious! LOL

Angel started during Season 4 of Buffy. Angel is a bit darker than Buffy, but it's not all that different, really.

Angel is much darker, better written and David Boreanaz is funny, Sarah Michelle Gellar not so much.

I was thinking about seeing that in 3D.

I don't like Elton John music though, Alan Menken for the win.

Watched some more Buffy. It's cheesy but it's getting funnier and there was a good episode where we found out more about Angel.

Does anyone remember that cop show where they showed each episode from like 4 or 5 perspectives? I forgot what it was called.

Watched a few random movies. Cube (weird shit), Event Horizon again (weird but awesome), Cabin Fever (weird and not awesome at all), Paranormal Activity 2 (not nearly as entertaining as the first one).

Watching Supernatural season 6, bit of a clusterfuck so far and very anticlimatic compared to the past two seasons.

Not sure what's going on. Missing the old Dean who would hit on every bar chick.

Saw Ninja Assasin

Dvader, I saw this because of you. indecision

It sucked. It was like an 80s movie. Only without the rockin' 80s soundtrack and cheese.

Plot was ass, cgi blood was everywhere. The end scene had SWAT team guys with machine guns storming a Ninja Dojo and shooting submachine guns at them. Then the ninja guy magically can suddenly dissolve the particles of his body into smoke, like LOST.

Saw this, Ong Bak 2

Read some pretty bad reviews for it so I was expecting total crap. It was okay though. There is barely any exposition or character development. It's more of a set of martial arts stage demonstrations and those fights are often spectacular, bone crunching, gritty and well choreographed.

No exposition and character development is how most martial arts films should be. When they attempt to include exposition and character development they fuck it up completely most of the time.

This film has so little dialogue though, about 10 minutes of chat in 1 and a half hours. The rest is just fighting. Ong Bak 3 I hear carries on from the end of this so I will check it out. There is one awesome scene in Ong Bak the beggining, a fight around an elephant. Tony Jaa uses the elephant and its tusks as aparatus to kick peoples behinds.

Hell no.

Best to stick to stuff like this:

This is like Red Steel the Movie^. LOL even the trailer is racist "they're two LA cops who are hungry for some takeout"

Up to episode 7 or 8 season 2 of buffy. This show is ass, but the 90s cheese is likeable.

I'm waiting for some story arc to kick in. They seem to be developing a boyfriend for Willow, no doubt to make Xander jealous. And the librarian is some kind of badass, although they haven't shown why yet.

Season 6 is all over the place, yet somehow miraculously they tie all the plot together and make an ending that will make you cream your pants. Season 7 starts with a huge bang and is much more focussed, but it does not reach the level of season 4 and 5. Not yet anyway.

And about Ninja Assasins, did I not tell you the movie is crap?! Why the hell are you listening to a guy that thinks Ninjas are from China?
