Saw Superbad.
It's okay, nothing special. Very crude humour but I'm fine with that and I chuckled a lot. It wasn't that great though and didn't seem to really go anywhere in the end. It's like one of those crazy nights you have in between childhood and adulthood where you try to do things you really aren't sure of.
There was no real meaning or decent plot in the movie, some of the gags were overcooked.

The Ghost:
It's a very by the numbers Asian wet hair horror film, but there's something very likable about it that I can't quite put my finger on. Apart from the cinematography which is very pleasant. Otherwise it should be reasonably boring, but it's just not.
Body of Lies:
Ugh. Some good performances, but aesthetically it's very boring, and the film is not thrilling at all. The themes are really undercooked, though wouldn't be too intrusive if it wasn't for some incredibly stupid dialogue at the end. It has its moments (like Mark Strong) but a giant meh all in all.
Runaway:
"Your girlfriend is very beautiful."
"Thank you."
"Did you know she's a bird?"
"No, I never noticed that."
"Like a monkey in a zoo."
'Nough said.
Sandglass:
The show, not the film.
Holy shit. The best Korean show I've seen; one of the best from anywhere else. North Korea is merely South Korea + famine and western hate. 
I'm sure the understated production values will turn some people off, but if they do then you're a dick. Besides, you'll probably still enjoy it for the excellent portrayal of Korea's modern history, even though the show is a lot more than that. Oh, and it has the best torture scene ever seen on TV!
The ending would be easily the best ending in any show I've seen if it wasn't for the narration. Sigh. I'm having trouble thinking of an ending that was benefitted by narration. Also went completely against the subtlety throughout the rest of the show.

Than it cuts to a scene of her playing with like animals outside and Gorgeous comes on and Ye is like

Than she is sitting on a bed and Kanye is playing Power on the MPC (and spazzes) and she starts dancing arrot:" class="smiley" src="http://www.kanyetothe.com/forum/Smileys/default/pollygonethatparrotdead.png" title="POLLY GONE, THAT PARROT DEAD" />- and that transitions into a kid running with like some red klan outfit putting out red smoke and AOTL comes on and they basically watch it like a parade with a big MJ head and a bunch of people walking + fireworks
After that we see Ye bring her to a dinner, where everyone is subtly talking about the Phoenix and Ye is getting mad and the Phoenix is getting nervous (but she picks up a cup) - and some guy is like to Kanye 'Your girlfriend is very beautiful" and Ye is like "Thank you " class="smiley" src="http://www.kanyetothe.com/forum/Smileys/default/Cheesy.gif" title="
" />" but than he goes "You do realize she's a bird right?" and Ye is like "
naw". Devil In A New Dress is playing right now though.
Than Ye goes on a random piano and a bunch of Ballerina's come out and he does a super long Runaway (which was epic) and he's talking about the people at the dinner table. Finshes, sits back down and Hell Of A Life comes on and than the waiter brings out a big bird to eat the Phoenix is like and screams and everyone runs off and Ye is sitting there alone like 
Than we see the Phoenix crying in the backyard and 'Blame Game' comes on and Ye is like 
and she is like 
Than the Phoenix talks about how she hates earth because everyone judges and rips the wings off of everything that's different and people here are stone phoenixes and if she doesn't burn herself alive to go back home she'll turn to stone and Ye is like "noooooooo 
" and than there is some weiird sex scene 
Finally Ye wakes up to 'Lost In The World' and realizes she's gone and starts booking it through the forest only to find her already burning herself and flying back home hno:" class="smiley" src="http://www.kanyetothe.com/forum/Smileys/default/Oh_no.png" title="oh no" />, we see Ye keep running and it goes back to
'Runaway'
I watched Black Swan.
It's a good film, but not a happy one to watch. There is a great sense of withheld violence and impending doom right from the start and throughout, and anyone familiar with any of Aronofsky's previous work, knows it won't be a happy ending. But this is a rough ride straight from the start. Mostly filmed on hand-held the dancing sequences though wonderful gave me a strong headache. It also left me with a strong pain in my stomach. Oh and Natalie Portman is beautiful and stunning and wonderful as you would expect.
So I would recommend it, but not for the squeamish or easily upset.

I just read that Liam Neeson is voicing Qui-Gon Jinn in the Clone Wars cartoon series. Obviously he will be a ghost but this proves that Lucas and company dont give a crap about countinuty anymore. This is before Sith, Obi-Wan is supposed to be shocked to hear from Yoda that Qui-Gon is a ghost. In the clip shown today, its Obi-Wan talking to Qui-Gon... so yeah.
I like the cartoon but I am upset that the strict rules they had in place to make sure all storylines fit doesnt seem to matter anymore. That said Qui-gon is awesome, best character in Episode 1.

It was one of the best zombie stories I have seen in recent times. I am not a fan of 28 days later and stuff like that. This seemed to hit the perfect note of slow paced burn and amazing visual action. I can't wait to see more. Definitely my new favorite show.
Bit late to the party, but have just watched the whole of series 1. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Seriously looking forward to Season 2 which I hope is in the works

Tonight I watched Aronofsky's "The Wrestler" with Mickey Roorke and Marissa Tomei
Very good film about a wrestler well past his day still trying to make a living doing the only thing he knows. Extremely bleak and sad, made even more so by the fact that even though it's a fictional story it could really be any one of many real-life wrestlers in the place of Randy "The Ram". Definitely worth watching, it's one that will make you think.

A documentary made in 2000 about a group of homeless people living in the subway tunnels under Penn station in NYC. A very humbling experience. People need to watch this if they think life is treating them badly.

I recently got let in on the Warner Archive - it's a part of the WB online store that sells "made to order" DVD's, mostly of obscure or kinda hard to find stuff. Most notably, it's got quite the selection of hard to find Hanna Barbara cartoons, such as most of the Yogi Bear movies, the Josie and the Pussycats cartoons and what shocked me - a complete set of 90's carton Swat Kats.
However, the WB Store has this policy that it doesn't ship DVDs, Blu-Rays or games outside of the US, which means that there's no way for me to actually purchase the box set. WHY. YOU FUCKERS WON'T RELEASE IT OUT HERE ANYWAYS, LET ME ORDER IT.
Ouch! Talk about a tease.
Turns out I found a workaround.
Amazon apparently have all of the DVDs, and DO ship them out of the States.
I just nabbed a copy of the bluRay release of Sleeping Beauty. I think I have pretty much all of the classic disney films that have been released on BR as of now. I think I'm only missing Fantasia.
Wire in the Blood first 3 episodes:
First things first. It's about forensic psychology so you literally can't make a show with that subject matter that isn't incredibly stupid. (SPOILERS BRO) Transgender psychopaths who have become serial killers becuase their mother didn't let them lick the cake tin; a fact discovered through a moment of Sherlock Holmes epiphany involving cake making equipment are the sort of things you can expect. Remember: free assosciation solves everything. That said, it's an intense stupidity told with likeable characters and a nice bit of humour. Plus, Robbie from Taggart playing a serial killer ex-footballer? Hells yeah. So completely stupid, but not without its charm.
Teenage Werewolf:
Made up of three short films. One light hearted comedy, one ky moment of dark horror (which was the best of the lot becuase it relied on very little dialogue; the version I was watching was dubbed by a single person in another Asian language, and there were no subtitles), and some kung fu pastiche which looked like it would have been awesome if I could've understood what was being said.
Water Babies:
Two words: Scottish Lobster. Not enough Darwinism/racism/eugenics, though.
Five Minutes of Heaven:
It worked despite the rather British telling of events due to Hirschbiegel, Nesbitt and Neeson. What a trio! It was no Downfall or Das Experiment, but it was good. Could well have ended up being hideous propaganda without those three, though. Especially Hirschbeigel.
Donnie Darko:
I was expecting to hate this. It's really unpolished in some areas (some incredible dumb dialogue now and then) but I just couldn't not really, really like it. All the performances are fantastic (even the president from BSG who is only capable of one expression which is somewhere between an unpleasant orgasm and the realisation that you just swallowed a condom full of LSD AND semen) and it's shot nicely and the story is great and blah blah blah, whatever it's good.
I'm ashamed of myself.

I just picked up Alice in Wonderland (1951) BR; I bet it's been 20 years or more since I last saw that film. I still need to get Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 BR as well.
