I'm liking this game a lot more than I figured I would. I thought I would just finish the single player then trade it in, but the multiplayer has a hold on me now.
i totally didn't expect my name to come up in a write up about this particular game ... but i thoroughly appreciated the reference

I have horrible news guys! There's a TRAITOR amongst us! My spy over at the Ring of Fire uncovered this highly classified conversation:
travo said:Killzone 3 weekend! I already played with a few of the guys from The VGPress. Sorry S0lid, maybe tomorrow. I might host and get the VGPress and RoF guys together... so they can KILL each other!
Travo! How could you?
Guys? What are we going to do about this?

Because that's the good part of the Killzone series!
I played some co-op. Not as tiring! But apart from the gameplay not being all that suited to co-op (needs to be much more intense) there was one major, major problem. See if you can spot it:

Maybe there's another mastermind pulling my strings.
You'll never get that information out of me!
I won't talk!
Ok, OK....I'll talk!
The mastermind is....
GG!
PS: That baby picture is creepier than any cat picture I could post!
I'm Killzoned out right now after two hours of online play. I might be up for more punishment tonight, if you guys are willing.
Oh. I'm --ALWAYS-- willing!
...and I guess I'll play some Killzone later with you too!
*You've been playing all this time? I took a peek on PSN on my computer and I didn't see you on, or I would have joined you!*
Just played a bit of the Marksman class. I do enjoy Snipers in the few 1st person games I play. One thing I --DID NOT-- realize was: Your experience and rank is the same for ALL the classes?! I have spent quite a few points on the Engineer Class already and have made it more difficult to Level up in any of the other Classes now. I guess these types of games REALLY want you to pick one Role and stick with it...?
Given that so many here have it I thought it deserved its own thread. Thevgpress clan anyone? If any of you are up for it I could invite you into a friend's clan who I played Killzone 2 with extensively. And then we can take over the world!
Anyway I've only played a couple of games so far. The extreme colours and lighting and faster pace had me feeling a little sick lol. I'll probably get used to it, though. Killzone 2 could be quite overwhelming online despite being pretty dark in comparison. I think the excellent gunfire sound effects make matters worse. First thing I noticed was how quickly everyone moved. It looks like it's going to mean there's more action, but less strategy, especially if you were using boost on Killzone 2. When to, and when not to really made things interesting especially during ganes like asssassination and capture the flag. Plus boosting up to a group of people and meleing them all never got old. Which is another thing: brutal melees seem to be a pretty big disadvantage if there's many other people around. Plus it was fun having three people all hitting each other over the head with their guns and seeing who died first. None of this namby pamby insant-kill knife fighting. And no custom matches? WTF! I know they're changing that, but geez...why wasn't that there at launch?
The controls...hmm, they're not as big a change as I expected. The only thing I haven't got used to yet (after two games) is the lack of auto-aim. It was a real pain in the arse on 2, but you end up changing your aiming style to use it. Otherwise the controls seem like Killzone 3's but faster. And people die a lot quicker, so there seems to be far less strategy in weapon and class selection. Oh well.
At the same time it still manages to feel quite Killzoney, albeit Killzone on LSD. I blame Bugsie.
P.S.
Haven't even played the campaign yet and I already hate Rico again.
P.P.S.
I don't have Travo, Robio (can't remember if you have it or not) and possibly Leo on PSN I think.
