It's kinda hard to place it on the hierarchy... It's not as Muso-ie as you would think. Yes, you fight in the Muso style, but you have Persona spells... The battles are much smaller and encounter-based than the big, sprawling ones you would find in Dynasty Warriors or Hyrule Warriors. You fight much smaller groups of enemies for much shorter times than the other games. Only thing that takes time are the mini-bosses and the big-bad bosses. It really, truly is an action-based sequel to Persona 5 than an in-universe, large scale warfare games, like the other ones mentioned.
Woo wee! Finally finished Dragon Quest XI: S Definitive Edition. It was really a game that just wanted to keep going and I absolutely loved the ride. It truly is a love letter to the franchise and is an epic quest in every sense of the word. It’s my favourite DQ game and my third favourite game of all time just behind Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. 10/10
So yeah, epic game. I'll probably get around to a replay of in 10 years or so. It's just so damn long that I don't know what I'm going to have the time to tackle it again.
robio said:Honestly, it felt like it was not just a love letter to the series, but to the entire genre, or at least the Square-Enix contributions. It was definitely a Dragon Quest game, but there for a few knots to final Fantasy in there, and Chrono trigger as well (definitely in the combat).

Yeah that’s true. I did get some vibes of Chrono Trigger in there for sure.

I so want it but just don;t know when I'd get to play it.

Just make it the one game you play next year.

Definitely more then worth it if you can make the time to play.

Assuming I get to!

Will give it some serious consideration.
Speaking of playing, I found a colour CRT yesterday and hooked it up to a NES. It was great. Castlevania, Bugs Bunny Birthday Adventure, Rampage. The 3 year old turning 4 loved it.

Play some GC games on it, RE4 looked so amazing on a CRT.
Anyway, I still played that game for 50 hours and overall enjoyed it. Up until the end of the game, it really did make a strong argument for being the best in the series.
I finished Halo Guardians and though I did enjoy it, I'm reminded that I just don't really care for this series. I have much more fun with the Gears games.
At practically 31 games finished (give it another day), this is easily my biggest year for games since 2014. Considering 2014 had 44 completed, I doubt I can actually beat it though.

I'm ready for the anticipated GG vs. Vader showdown. GG, get in here!

I'll be using the site Gagan shared this year. Everything I play and review is easily categorized and seen in
