check this out about Samurai Pizza Cats

"As is with many cases of early anime translation, the product released to the western market was quite different from the original Japanese cartoon. However, the case of the Samurai Pizza Cats dub is somewhat unusual.

First, the difference in translation was one born out of necessity. When Saban bought the rights to the show, the translators were supplied with the tapes of the series in Japanese, but not with any transcripts. Furthermore, the show was apparently chock full of esoteric Japanese cultural and linguistic references. Under these circumstances, Andy Thomas, the Saban producer, decided to have brand new scripts written to match the animation. As a result, the show ended up being something of a spoof of itself."

Basically Samarai Pizza Cats is a abridged version of the original. No wonder it was weird and awesome at the same time!

OMG Peter Venkman is same voice actor as Tummi Gummi in Gummi bears. Optimus Prime and Voltron have the same voice actor. And Splinter from TMNT and Mandrake from Defenders of the Earth are the same guy?

Voice actors are surprising like that.

Osaka from Azumanga Daioh = Kuriko in Maburaho = Tsuruya in Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Whoa, great find. That's a little bizaare right there. Oh and I'm coming around to your way of thinking on TMNT, I've been watching volume 3 and it just doesn't hold up against stuff like Defenders of the Earth or Transformers. It's occasionally funny, but mostly crap. Volume 2 was great though. Still there was 10 years of TMNT original series so I'll see how the rest pans out.

I think that Amy from Galaxy High is Darkwing Ducks adopted daughter. Oh and I just noticed that Raphael from TMNT is one of the aerialbots in Transformers.

Transformers had this weird double episode, the first was great, they went back to Cybertron to find the original computer that sparked life into them all. Then the second was a bit crappy. Megatron stole some cars and made the Stunticons, cars that can perform crazy stunts and which are virtually indestructable. The problem is that they are hideously overpowered and can hands down beat the regular autobots like Optimus Prime et al. A bit silly. Then the autobots made the Aerialbots, flying autobot jets who can hands down beat the Stunticons. And both sets of new bots can join to make mega robots. So its almost become like a video game RPG weapons triangle.

There have been two episodes with cross.... species..... romance between female human and robot, autobot. It's a little freaky.

 Check this out

"Michael Airington, one of the show's writers, also sang the theme song. According to Andy Thomas, Airington had a few drinks before the recording session for the song started, and as a result, accidentally repeated some of the lyrics (i.e., “this cat gets down down with a love hang over”). Airington recorded this doing his Paul Lynde voice."

Wow he was singing the opening drunk LOL

About TMNT, I do not recall saying anything about it, just that the new TMNT was more in line with the comics and Shredder did not look like a homeless guy!

There is actually an episode called: The girl who loved Powerglide. And powerglide is a robot that turns into a plane. In another episode Seaspray falls in love with a woman and using a magical lake he turns into a human and she turns into a female autobot. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. LOL

This is a 2oth anniversary edition released I assume on Transformers newfound popularity given the movie. Its been completely remastered and has Vince Dicola scoring it. I think he did the Rocky music.

I got to say most of the great stuff can be heard on the sample videos I posted on page 2. Touch by Stan Bush is the tune when Optimus Prime goes on his final run at the Decepticons. The Transformers theme tune by Lion is absolutely ROCKIN'. I dont know whether to laugh or head bang. I love it.

It's actually not a bad film. Much better than I expected, quite entertaining. I wouldn't watch the original TV series immediately before otherwise your memories might be shattered and you might haaaaaaaaate the movie.

I just ordered Visionaries (I have no idea what this is) and Chip N Dale Rescue Rangers the first set for like $5.

Last night was the moment. My hands shook as I tentatively put Transformers the movie into my DVD player. This was it, the pivotal moment in Generation one Transformers cartoon history.

These are not the droids you were looking for.

Classic Transformers that we know and love is Megatron Vs Prime, locked in an eternal struggle. It's set mostly on earth, it's funny and awesomely entertaining. It's set in 1985 when the series was made. Fast forward to 2005, the Transformers timeline kicks forward 20 years. Spike is now a man, gone is his yellow construction helmet, his father Spark Plug is no more, he has a son, Daniel.

The Decepticons have cemented their ownership of Cybertron. Megatron ambushes an Autobot shuttle. The rampage ensues, Decepticons lasers which in the series would have had minimal effect, now savagely tear apart your favourite autobots. Rachet the medical bot is dead, Brawn the little powerhouse, dead. Ironhide feebly grabs Megatron's leg to hold him back, at which point he is mercilessly excecuted. Sad This is like horror. Like watching an alternative Star Wars where Darth Vader bursts into a room and hacks Luke, Leia and Han to bits.

The onslaught continues as the Decepticons head towards Autobot City on Earth, slipping by in the stolen shuttle. The batte rages into the night and what a battle it is, probably the best action sequence in Transformers I've seen yet. By morning the defenses of the city are down, the autobots are toast, when Prime and the Dinobots arrive. The Dinobots take out Devastator (The combined Constructicons) and Prime does the most audaciously heroic sequence in Transformers history. The animators know exactly what they are doing, toying with your emotions. He transforms into a truck in slow motion and you agonise at the moment - the last time you will ever see him transform "Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost."

He drives at the 10 Decepticons like a unstoppable tide, smashing them out of the way on his way to Megatron. Then boosters fire and he forward somersaults in slow mo, bringing out his massive hand cannon to blast several more. When he lands we see him from the side, his cannon even sounds iconic. He faces Megatron:

"Megatron. One shall stand, one shall fall"

"Prime Why throw your life away so recklessly?"

"That's a question you should ask yourself Megatron" his voice booms. There is an epic fight, Optimus takes the brunt of the damage, but he's unstopable and floors his rival eventually.

"Finish him off Prime!" Yells Kup the old timer.

"No Prime, have mercy!" Says Megatron as he reaches for a hidden gun.

"You who are without mercy now plead for it? I thought you were made of sterner stuff Megatron?"

"No you don't Megatron!" Yells Hotrod, jumping towards Megatron. The big M uses him as a human.... er bot shield and blasts Prime several times.

"Fall! Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall!"

Sad

To be continued. Sad
