ASK_Story said:I've been going crazy with Nintendo points lately and getting the WiiWare/VC games that I've always wanted. Here is my collection so far:
WiiWare:
- NyxQuest (I know Hamster will like this!)
NyxQuest is easily my favorite WiiWare game.
Bit.Trip Beat is really good too. It's a hard game, though

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI second Yoda's recommendation. even though it is my least favourite Mario RPG it is still among my favourite games and one of the very few games i bought on the Virtual Console and actually bothered to finish.
you must also get:
My favourite wiiware game is still by far:
Paper Mario N64 is the best purchase, its 20 hrs long and is a full game and because of its cel shading it even holds up all these years later and the gameplay is up there with TTYD.
Also, get Lost Winds 1 and 2, World of Goo.
And too much VC stuff to mention, top of the list is SNES Cybernator, as well as stuff like Ghouls and Ghosts and Mario Zelda, Metroid etc.
I think the best games on WiiWare have already been mentioned: Lost Winds, Nyx, Bit.Trip Beat, World of Goo, Cave Story, and Dr. Mario. There's a few other ones of note though too.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life As A King is a fun game, though it gets a little too long for its own good. It's worth picking up though, but avoid the extra DLC as most of that really isn't anything more than pure filler.
The Strong Bad series and the Monkey Island series are both good if you enjoy the source material. If you're not familiar with them pass on them though as you'll just miss out on too many jokes.
Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is a game that at times is incredible and at other times incredibly frustrating. You could easily see how brilliant the game would be if they just combined it all into one game and gave it a little extra polish because there are so many good ideas in the game. SE took all the great ideas from all of their 16 bit games and tried to cram them into this, and it just didn't quite work. Ultimately this is kind of like Core Crisis when comparing it to FFVII. It's good, but not nearly as good as the original game. Fans of the original will still probably find a lot to like.
And while they're not exclusives, Mega-Man 9 and 10 seem to make a lot of fans of the originals happy too.

Love that opening song!
(No, I am not kidding)
The music that plays after they complete a level is even better.
BEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYY, BEEEEE HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPYYYYYY..................
I like the game a lot too. There's not real challenge to it, but there's a lot of good variety to the levels and is actually pretty fun. Had people not been expecting a real sequel to Yoshi's Island I think this game would have been better received.

I'm sorry, did I say that out loud?
Oh man so much goodness to be had on the VC it's really hard to make a list. My favourite has to be the SNES games though, I really love a whole slew of games on that system like the Final Fight games, Contra III, Gradius III, Final Fantasy II, Super Castlevania IV, etc. I really hope Square-Enix puts out Final Fantasy III and Chrono Trigger. I would also love to see Konami and Capcom put a bunch more of their SNES games on there as well.
I want some Capcom arcade games. Virtual arcade.
Sick of SNES or Genesis versions thanks.
aspro said:I dug SimCity on the VC. It probably appealed to me more than most due to nostaligia, but I DL'd it and played it until my grid was full over the course of 2 days.Probably too primative for most.
This was one of my first VC pick ups, and it was a fantastic choice. I grew up with the PC version, but this SNES version didn't really lose out on too much and while it's simple I think it's one of those games that has such perfect balance that it doesn't really need to add more to it. Running a successful city can still be hard as hell if you're not planning correctly.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Virtual Arcade.
Yeah I'd love to see Konami and Capcom arcade games from the '90's put up there.
